"I hired Sam and his team to redo my driveway and sidewalk. The team arrived on time and did the prep work very quickly. The cost was actually lower than I expected. Later, I needed some minor landscaping work done and they came out and finished that job within a few hours. All the employees that was on site were friendly and professional. I will use Sam and California Concrete Design for future work."

"Jeremy McMahon is the consummate professional and his work is an exquisite representation of the personal touch. He takes pride in all that he does, and then goes the extra mile for customer satisfaction. We know this to be true. When we hired Jeremy, he came to our home and treated us with kindness and consideration. He is personable and honest. The estimate he provided for complete kitchen cabinet resurfacing was very reasonable. He made certain to let us take a full day, after completion of the project, to look over everything carefully. When we found that some of the doors of our 30-year-old cabinets needed an extra coat of paint, Jeremy was quick to comply and let us now customer satisfaction was of primary importance. Jeremy McMahon is a trustworthy, honest, and dedicated person--and his quality of work is an extension of his wonderful character. He made 30-year-old veneer look magical! Thank you Jeremy for your patience and consideration. We think the cabinets look fantastic. We would hire Jeremy for additional work around our home."

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Steam mops can be a better option than traditional mops because the steam can lift stubborn dirt from floors without using chemicals, and it also kills bacteria and dust mites. However, steam mops have drawbacks: they are more expensive, require an electrical outlet, and are not suitable for all flooring types, such as laminate or hardwood, which can be damaged by the steam.

Regular mopping can also sanitize floors effectively when done with the right cleaning products and techniques, though it may require more effort. The main advantage of a traditional mop is its versatility, as it can be used on any type of flooring. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your floor type, budget, and cleaning preferences.

A subfloor's lifespan can range from 30 years to the entire life of the house, which is often between 50 and 100 years. The actual longevity depends on the material and its protection from damage. For example, while OSB may last longer than plywood, it is not the best choice for heavy flooring like ceramic tile. The most critical factor is moisture; a subfloor that avoids water damage, mold, and termites can last for decades. However, prolonged exposure to moisture will cause it to warp, rot, or grow mold, significantly shortening its life.

Ultimately, it’s a matter of personal preference. However, as a rule of thumb, lighter-colored carpets and walls will open up a room and often make it feel larger than it really is. On the other hand, darker shades tend to shrink a space, making it feel cozier. By mixing and matching light and dark colors, you can add dimension to the room.

Yes, you can mop hardwood floors with a damp flat or string mop as long as it is not soaking wet. Always avoid leaving standing water or fully soaking your hardwood floors, even if they are properly finished. A slightly wet mop, with or without cleaning solutions, will not damage the wood.

Yes, you can recycle most types of carpet. If you hire a pro to remove your old carpet, ask about their carpet disposal process. Many companies will recycle the carpeting, but if yours doesn’t, you can ask them to take it to a recycling center for you (although there might be an additional fee). Alternatively, you can hire a junk hauling service or contact a carpet recycling organization (like CARE).
