Sales rep Kim measured the areas and showed me sample boards with swatches. She was knowledgeable about carpet density, and I chose the top of the line within the look I wanted. The price was reasonable. Kim had me take a picture of the carpet I had selected and told me to compare it to a swatch the installers would cut for me when they came to install. It was downhill from there. On installation day, 12/26, I first rec'd an automated call stating that there was a job before mine and that they couldn't give me a time estimate until that job progressed. About an hour later, I rec'd a call from Empire because the caller had been told that I wanted to either cancel or reschedule. I told her that was not the case. She then told me that they would be at my job between 8 & 10AM (It was 8:55) and quickly amended it to 9 - 10. That seemed odd considering that the automated call said there was a job before mine. They arrived around 9:30 and presented me with a swatch much lighter than the color I had selected. The lead installer (contractor, not an Empire employee) said my photo wasn't an accurate representation, but I told him I had seen the swatch and that the photo matched what I had seen perfectly. He was unable to reach Empire and asked me to call the sales rep. I left a voicemail around 10:30. I also rec'd a call from Empire after the installer eventually reached the company. I was asked what the tag on the carpet said. I hadn't been told of a tag, but went out to the truck. It had the correct color name, but was not the correct color. The Empire employee tried to blame the sales rep, saying she had made a mistake. I said no, the mistake was Empire's. The inventory did not match the sample boards. She was going to send the sales rep out to straighten out the situation. It has now been 76+ hours and I have not heard from Empire or the sales rep. I just tried to call the # of the Empire person who called me, and rec'd an automated message that the # had been changed, disconnected, or was out of service. Meanwhile, I am out the 10% deposit of $924 and have nothing to show for it.

I would never use this company again. The carpet I purchased 2 years ago had to be stretched. I was told it was out of the warranty period, but no one offered to come and look at the terrible job that was done. I had to hire another flooring company to stretch it, and I was embarrassed to be told what a bad job was done, and angry that I got taken by this company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are unprofessional and they will lie to you. They will not show up when they are expected. A "two day" job became six days because they didn't even bother to show up the first two days.

Since the installation, the living room floor has gradually started changing colors and bubbling/ rippling. We reported it to them and they sent someone out for an inspection. We've asked for copies of our original bill (which we haven't been able to find) because we want to identify the adhesive they used originally to ensure it's not used again and find out if there is any warranty with the adhesive. They sent someone out for an inspection who thought it was water damage and told us that it really hinges on the adhesive used previously.

They were very efficient as far as coming and getting this done. We had a few little issues but they did honor the warranty. There was a flaw in the origin carpet but they replaced the carpet that they did in entire house. They said that the guy we’re dealing was a little troublesome. We finally got to their home office and they made good with the couple of problems that we still have. Overall, as far as the final cut and baseboard that they put in, I’m satisfied with it. I have a little concern with the replacement. The installers did few things that needed to be repaired and they were good with it. The pricing was good.

Salesperson Toni seemed very nice and knowledgeable. When problems arose, she disappeared. Crew arrives and you must provide Credit Card upon their arrival prior to work. Crew pretends to speak only spanish. Baseboard work is bad. The expensive luxury vinyl expands and bubbles up from floor. I've been tryiny for 4 weeks to get correction. Salesperson Toni doesn't respond.

I'm not happy with it. Once I had the carpeting in and I start walking around in my bare foot, there's stuff underneath the carpet, like little pieces that they didn't sweep away. That is poor work but I'm not gonna have them come back and rip up all the carpet to remove whatever they forgot to sweep. It looks good in the beginning. They have salesmen that come to your house and then they give you samples and then you order. On the linoleum flooring, it's supposed to be a lifetime warranty and there are spots that had yellowed and I had no idea why. It's like something is dripping on them so there's something that's left underneath that caused it. This was supposed to be a replaceable special flooring and after some wear and tear on it, there were some areas where there were actual ripped marks that they tried to cover up after the flooring. I haven't called them to discuss this because it is a lifetime flooring. It's a whitish color and it's yellowing. These are the issues I'm gonna discuss with Empire and see how they're gonna resolve them.

The sales guy Scott Macedo completely lied to me about their installation guys being all actual Empire employees and not just any Jo Schmo contractor/subcontractor picked up off the streets and quot;like how Home Depot and other mom and pop shops do itand quot;. That was a great selling point and he used it to lie to me and get the sale. Come to find out, the installation guys are actually subcontractors. But I was very lucky to get two excellent installers. They were very cordial, respectful and professional. They were very detailed oriented and cleaned up the mess during and after the job was done. They did a great job installing from what I can see.
But back to Empire's sales guy's deception. I had actually thought about cancelling the job on installation day because of the lie but the installation guys seemed so nice and cordial that I went ahead and gambled with it anyway. Within the next couple of days, Empire's survey gal called and I tried explaining the situation to her and she could not comprehend that my issue was with the lie from the sales guy NOT from the installers. The installers were great. I had to slow her down and reiterate my feedback but then she got snippy and her attitude became worse. If there is a follow up survey for the surveyor then she would definitely receive a big FAT F! Also very importantly, Empire only has one level of quality of Berber carpet to choose from (they do have different styles) and after a month of use, the quality of the carpet they have is pure junk! The carpet is thin and the weaving is not closely not. A lot of areas of the carpet is already coming apart. I wish I had never used Empire. Their carpet quality is horrible and not durable at all. It's only been a month and signs of the low quality is apparent.
Overall, I would never use or ever recommend Empire again because the trust was broken and the surveyor really left a lasting bad taste.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE, i got completely ripped off!!! They installed a carpet that left 1/2and quot; gaps between the trim and the rug. also Nails coming through the rug. I offered to pay more and get the proper carpet installed, they declined. Unbelievable. Going to arbitration with them. I plan on reporting them to California State Attorney general. Ripping out their job and putting in proper carpet.

The appointment process was painless. I scheduled it online and received reminders of my appointment time. The salesman was very prompt (within 15 minutes of the beginning appt time window). We talked about what I was looking for and he brought in about 8 samples to choose from. I hadn't even realized that a berber was in my budget, but it was what I ended up selecting.
He offered my choice of appointment dates starting the next day, but I ended up purchasing on Friday and installing on Monday morning. 2 installers spent most of the day, and were very professional. The carpet looks great. I would definitely consider using them again.
