"Lifetime Custom Painting prices are very fair and reasonable.  Luis and his crew were very professional and punctual.  This is the second time we have used their services.  We are always pleased and satisfied with their work.  The lastest work they did for us was for a 5 bedroom house.  Luis estimated 5 days for the project, his crew was able to complete in 3 days.  His crew also does a follow up touch up job down the road.  I already recommended  them to several of my neigbors.

"I hired Palm Construction to remodel my kitchen and I can't say enough positive things about this company. Mike and his team were extremely professional, efficient, clean and well organized. Mike was very helpful, gave me great suggestions and informed me about everything important. I was out of town for a week but I knew exactly what was going on all the time. The project was finished on time and quality is as promised, at highest level. Thanks Mike on beautiful new kitchen, will recommend this great company to friends and neighbors!"

"We had a slow start at first but that was not because of Ryan's service, we originally contacted him in February and was on his schedule for February 24th, however the current Job he was working took longer as the job apparently had grown into a longer job.  So we scheduled to February 27th, and then the rain started we had several much needed storms coming in and it was very important that the decks were totally dry before coating and it had to be dry for at least 48 hours after the coating.  Our next schedule was on April 8th due to March being off and on rain.
When Ryan arrived at 10:00 in the morning he brought the material the his crew would need to complete the job, his crew was a little late but once the started the job they did a very efficient job and cleaned up after they were done they were very pleasant and professional. All in all we are very happy with Ryan and his crew.

"The service from Mr. Handyman was awesome!  Henrik was professional,
respectful and attentive.  He installed a shelf in my closet, decorative
shelving above my fireplace, a light fixture in the kitchen and hung
picture frames in the hallway.  All of the work was done extremely well
and with a good attitude.  He even laid down paper under his tools to
make sure that he kept my carpet clean.  He asked if he needed to remove
his shoes before entering my apartment and made sure that he cleaned up
when he was done.  He did have to come out twice because the office
underestimated the time that the projects would take and the second time
he was running a bit late, but he called and made me aware of the
situation and was ready to accommodate my schedule.  I would hire Mr.
Handyman and request Henrik again in a heartbeat!

"We had a huge awful, sticky, and smelly spill on our property. We got several estimates, and they were all too high. West Coast Powerwash did a great job of cleaning the mess and charged a reasonable rate. It was painless."

"From the first day of work, Mr. Sadock and his employees were courteous, polite, and professional at all times. They worked well as a team, were pleasant, reliable, efficient, and hard working. They were puntually there each day to work on time, were well groomed, and eager to begin. We were impressed with the quality of their work, and the way the work was completed.
Each day, focus areas were prepared for work. Our furniture was treated with care, and the walls and floors protected. We were always kept in the loop as to what was happening, and the progress of the overall project. At the end of each day,the work area was cleaned, and materials and tools put away. Our comfort was always a high priority.
When the project was completed, we were asked to do a final walk-through of all the rooms of the house. Mr. Sadock's employees touched up, replaced all light fixtures and vents, thoroughly vacuumed, and cleaned work areas. They did great work.
In the end, we were left with beautiful ceilings. Mr. Sadock, Ygal, personally followed up with us each day to make sure we were pleased with all progress. He continually went over and beyond to ensure our satisfaction with the work, and his employees. We appreciated the suggestions, courtesy, and care he afforded us, and our home. It was a pleasure working with Sadock home Improvement. If you're looking for a professional company, which stands behind their work, we suggest Sadock Home Improvement.

"We took up our laminate floor after a water leak and discovered that our foundation cracks had worsened since we bought the house 2 years ago. One crack had widened and had filling washed out by water from the leak.

Armando came out and looked at the foundation. He told us we didn't have any major foundation issues, and just needed to have the cracks ground out and filled in with epoxy to fill and stabilize them. He also offered to clean up the foundation where we had just removed a fireplace -- there was rebar sticking up out of the foundation, some globs of mortar, small holes, and old floor tiles, all of which he offered to remove. HIs estimate was lower than we received from a larger company that didn't really want to do the job because it was relatively small. We call Armando back on a Monday to schedule the work, and he sent a 2-man crew over the next afternoon. They were a little late, but not enough to be a problem. The workers covered and moved furniture, did all the work, and moved the furniture back. They used a vacuum while grinding out the cracks, which didn't eliminate the concrete dust but did minimize it. Armando called after the crew left to make sure we were satisfied, which was a nice touch. We were very pleased with the entire process, start to finish, including the quality of the work.

"Very professional company, excellent customer service, artisan craftsmanship, and with minimal disturbance to our property and lives.
We had a glass fence on top of a steep slope facing a protected area, and the wood frame was failing. Having asked another fence contractor for an estimate which was beyond our budget, we had given up on keeping the glass, and were mulling other options.
A cold call from a GW representative led to having supervisor Matt come out to estimate a steel cable fence option. Matt described the pros and cons of this idea, We then ran our original plan by him- to reuse our perfectly good glass on top of new brick wall. He assured us he could reuse the glass and quickly suggested a design for metal posts. He worked with us and gave us a good quote within our budget. His crew started on the week promised, made quick and clean work of excavation, and created a beautiful wall that blends into the canyon and looks like it belongs there. Have to give a shoutout to Henry the stonemason, what a craftsman! The work area was always tidy every evening; some days we looked for the progress to know they'd been there. The metal works crew and glass crew were also prompt, courteous and extremely capable. The metal crafters came up with a great gate to the canyon design so it could be glass also, with an innovative security element. Very impressed with the work. The job took about 6 weeks. i will have to say I got impatient to see the finished product, because we were optimistically told two weeks, but I work with construction in my job and know this was a totally reasonable, and acceptable time frame.
The fence is gorgeous, it will last and last, so happy! Makes it a joy to get out there gardening and entertaining.. Thanks Matt, and GW crews. Super job!

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The best direction for a gate to swing depends on its location and purpose, but swinging inward is the general rule. An inward swing is often considered safer, prevents the gate from opening into public spaces like a sidewalk, and may be required by local building codes.

There are exceptions and specific considerations. If your property is on a slope, an inward swing might not be possible. For a deck gate, it's safest to have it swing away from any steps. In a backyard, the direction can be a matter of preference, though an inward swing can be helpful when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

Regardless of direction, ensure the gate can open fully without hitting any objects or blocking spaces. While an inward swing is standard, a gate that can swing both in and out offers the most flexibility if your setup allows for it.

Yes, you can build a pool deck yourself, but it takes precision, a lot of time, and many specific tools. You’ll need to create a deck plan, be careful with measurements, cut each piece of wood, secure the pieces properly, and ensure the deck meets building codes. Building a deck around a pool is a rewarding DIY, but it’s time- and labor-intensive, so thoughtfully consider your abilities and the time you have before embarking on this DIY.

In many areas, a floating deck that isn’t connected to your home and stays under 200 square feet and below 30 inches in height may not need a permit. These freestanding structures are often considered low-risk, which can simplify the building process. However, building codes vary greatly based on location. Before investing in any home improvement project, check with your local permitting office for deck-building guidelines.

PVC decking might be long-lasting, but this synthetic material lacks the natural aesthetic or sustainability of wood decking. If you want to match your decking to your new garden furniture or just freshen up the faded surface, it’s not usually possible to paint PVC decking. When comparing PVC to composite decking, PVC is pricier and more prone to warping in hot regions.

Yes, you can attach a deck to a mobile home, but it’s important that the work be done correctly to avoid the potential for major damage to your home. Many building codes require that any additions to mobile homes—including decks—be either freestanding or have their own support structures. Getting permits may require submitting the home's original floor plan, the proposed floor plan, framing details, and more.
