"[member name removed], you have the wrong Mr. Handyman office for your complaint. The Glendale - Burbank office has no record of providing you service, nor have we every had a technician named Eugene. We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all our work and never would leave a customer's job incomplete. I am glad you found resolution."
"This member called our office, requesting that we go out and provide him a fixed-price bid on the work he needed done. A perfectly reasonable request on his part- but we don't work on a fixed-priced basis, except in very rare exceptions, so we couldn't fulfill his request. Mr. Handyman bills by the hour- not by the job. We do regularly provide Time & Material estimates over the phone- which will then be firmed up on site when the Technician arrives to start work. Fyi- many people erroneously use the terms "estimate" and "fixed bid" interchangeably: we DO estimates (which, by definition is an approximation), we DON'T do fixed-price bids. There are pros & cons with each method of billing (hourly vs fixed price). Mr. Handyman has performed over 10,000 service appointments in San Diego over the last few years, and virtually all were done on an hourly basis: very large remodels, as well as quick fix 30 minute services. Mr. Handyman has also grown to be the largest professional handyman service provider in the nation- all with a model of hourly billing, and has maintained a very high satisfaction rate. Clearly this method works for many customers."
