"The owner of the company Jason Taylor spent time in my attic before we contracted with them so he could give me good and correct information. He also participated in the work of shooting in the insulation. He was very hands-on. Donâ t usually expect this attention from the owner/boss Was very pleased."

"Rafael and his company are great people to work with. Their in-depth estimate and assessment of the attic is unparalleled, not to mention competitive. They were very flexible with accommodating our needs on our schedule. Very responsive Manager too, would reply to my calls and text almost immediately. I really appreciate how hard working and efficient these guys are. I had other workers doing work on our house at the same time and they were also impressed at how clean they left the attic before installing the new insulation. Rafael values your business and his work and attitude definitely demonstrate it. Call them you won't regret it."

"IIS is an excellent company to complete your attic project. Alex initially gave me a free inspection and good estimate then made sure all my questions were answered throughout the whole project. All the work was done within a day and it was great pricing for the work performed, beats most competitors."

"The crew was on time, worked hard and efficiently, and cleaned up the work site beautifully after they were done. The subsequent patching, stucco replacement, and painting were so superb one would never know the entirety of the house had been drilled into in dozens of places. As for the insulation product itself, I was able to feel the positive effects of the insulation almost immediately. Happy to recommend Guardian for wall insulation work."

"Technician Jake Sheiner came out for free inspection and estimate. Explained with the amount of blown-in insulation we already have that adding more would not net any energy savings. He was honest, polite and knowledgeable and did not try to see us something we did not need. He cleaned up after inspecting both attics and explained everything he found to us. Thanks, Jake."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Air sealing isn't necessary for attic insulation, but it's incredibly helpful since it can help you identify and patch any existing air leaks. Failing to find these leaks before adding insulation can render your insulation less effective, leading to higher energy bills and potentially costly repairs down the line.

The best type of insulation for your home depends on your specific needs, climate, and the area you are insulating. For new construction, structural insulated panels are a highly energy-efficient option that is easy to install during the building process. In very warm climates, reflective insulation can be a cost-effective choice. For cold climates, fiberglass is an excellent option due to its high R-value and resistance to settling over time. Spray foam works well in humid environments because of its moisture-resistant properties. For standard attics, loose-fill, spray foam, or blown-in insulation are all suitable options.

Insulating your basement walls offers numerous advantages that make the project well worth it. By adding insulation, you can reduce the chances of moisture damage to the house's structure and lower the odds of mold growth. You'll also add comfort to the space by reducing temperature swings and increasing your home's energy efficiency, potentially reducing your energy bills to earn your investment back.

The best type of attic insulation depends on where you live, your budget, and what stage of construction the attic is in. For example, if you're building a house, then structural insulated panels are a worthy investment since they're easy to install during construction and they're the most energy-efficient type of insulation.

Additionally, if you live in a very warm climate, then you can potentially save quite a bit of money by opting for reflective insulation, which is more affordable than comprehensive insulation but doesn't work well for cool climates. Blown-in, loose-fill, and spray foam insulation are all great options for attics in moderate climates.

Pipes in your house can freeze after six hours or so if you lose power and temperatures are below freezing. You can prepare for potential power outages by winterizing your pipes with insulation. Also, whenever temperatures drop below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, turn your faucets on very low and leave them dripping until temperatures rise.
