"Juan did an excellent job. Best quality of work I’ve had done in ages. Great communication. Great attention to detail. Great care taken of the work area. Juan cut the tile and matched the pattern beautifully and included us in making the choices for tile spacing and layout. I am picky. Super picky. This tile work was perfectly done. I will hire Juan again without question."

Small jobs welcome

"We called Pacini’s Tile Works for help with deteriorating grout in our kitchen and shower. Owner Jeff got back to us right away and put his tile specialist Joe Lee on the job. Jeff scheduled our job quickly, which was great because we were worried about damage from water leaking through the old grout. Joe worked quickly and thoroughly, replacing broken tiles, fixing the leaking spot, and putting in new grout and caulking in the kitchen. He also replaced all the grout and caulking in the shower and repaired water damage in an area adjacent to the tub. He explained all the repairs very clearly and did meticulous work. We will be calling Pacini’s again to keep our tiled areas water-safe and beautiful—so happy to have found them!"

"We needed our shower floor retiled. Mario did a fantastic job! He came to look at space and discuss the project in advance at no charge. He brought tile samples that were perfect, coordinating with the wall tile and other finishes. Mario provided a reasonable cost estimate and did the job on time. He even used drop cloths to protect the carpet areas leading to the bathroom where the work was done. I was impressed he was able to cleanly remove the old tile without damaging the walls or surrounding glass. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Mario--he is communicative, kind, knowledgeable, careful, and flexible. I am grateful that our job was matched with Cubias Tile!"

"Iâ m really satisfied with DARA TILE INC and Adrianâ s Team Performance. I had a leak in my old shower and I wanted to fix that and update the bathroom. They did a Full Bathroom Remodel for us and we totally loved."

"The porcelain tile installation turned out better than we hoped. Their workers adapted to the change that proved necessary (we tried to remove the previous tile and cement board underlayment ourselves). They also disposed of the tile we removed. The new floor is a joy to behold."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Whether you want to match your tile trim with grout comes down to your personal preferences. If you match the two, it can help your tiles to stand out while providing a clean, cohesive look. On the other hand, you might opt to match your tile trim with your tiles. The best option will depend largely on your tile design, as well as how it fits overall with the rest of your room.

The lifespan of tile flooring can vary significantly based on the material and maintenance. Generally, tile flooring can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years, but high-quality, well-maintained ceramic tile can last 75 to 100 years. To achieve a longer lifespan, you should clean the tiles and grout regularly, reseal the grout annually, keep the floor dry, and avoid placing extremely heavy items on it to prevent cracking. Choosing a high-quality tile (Grade 1) will also contribute to its longevity.

Bathrooms are naturally moisture-rich environments, so choose a durable, water-resistant tile for your tub surround. Porcelain and ceramic are two popular options that are also quite affordable. Glass is another good option that’s also low-maintenance—you just need a glass cleaner like you would use on the bathroom mirror. Natural stone tile is porous, but it’s still a viable option if you choose it in a glazed version.

There are no unbreakable rules of design, but experts recommend against using large tiles in areas with poor subflooring where they’re more prone to cracking, in areas where the floor isn’t entirely level, over raised areas or dips, and in bathrooms where budget is the primary concern. The size of your bathroom shouldn’t be a reason not to use large tiles; in fact, larger tiles, also known as slab tiles, can be a modern and sleek choice for bathroom floors and walls.

The difference between floor and wall tiles is that floor tiles generally have higher strength and porosity ratings than wall tiles. Wall tiles are typically weaker and more likely to crack or become damaged under sustained pressure like high foot traffic.

For this reason, avoid using wall tiles on floors and vice versa.
