Small jobs welcome

"I contacted 3 contractors for bids. Jeff Pacini's Tile Works was not the low bidder but was the most experienced and knowledgeable by far. After a follow-up phone call Jeff agreed to match the low bid. He has 6 tile repair specialists who work exclusively for him and he sent Joe to do my repair. Joe was prompt, professional and did a great job. I highly recommend Pacini's Tile Works for any job you have. Great work at a great price!"

"Jacob is a true tile master. From the estimate, through a clear contract and installation of the tiles in a kitchen and two bathrooms he did an amazing job. He had great design ideas, and the workmanship was of the highest quality. I am a general contractor and will definitely be hiring him again."

"Mario was up to the challenge repairing my 40 year old cracked tile. He was conscientious, friendly and creative for the task at hand. Without replacement tile Mario gave me a few options. I opted to have the original tile repaired as good as was possible. He did a great job!"

Customers say: Terrific value

"The owner of Express Tile and design, was polite, curtious, gave us a fair estimate and the work completed by his employee and himself was amazing. We had 3 different size and style tiles and the installed all 3 types beautifully. They worked full, long days until the job was done. I would definitely hire them again!"

Customers say: Terrific value

"My tile floors were cleaned and sealed, they now look terrific. George and his Father, went out of their way to cover stains and nicks. George even said he would return to lift a heavy plant when I purchase a new saucer. And he left a cleaning product to maintain my floors. I certainly highly recommend him."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s possible to cut tile without a wet saw; instead, you can use an angle grinder, a glass cutter, a snap cutter, tile nippers, or a rotary tool with a tile-cutting blade. A manual tile cutter or snap cutter works well for the larger tiles that wet saws are typically used for, while smaller projects might just require nippers or a glass cutting wheel. If you’re working with large quantities of tile, however, power tools are best.

The number of boxes of tile you need depends entirely on the amount of tile in each box or case. Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Often, the amount of area that a case will cover is listed in the product description. To calculate the number of boxes you need, take the total square feet of the space and divide it by the number of square feet the box will cover.

Yes, you can tile over existing tiles in a bathroom, but it is not always recommended. For this method to be successful, the original tile surface must be clean, flat, and free of damage such as cracks, unevenness, mold, or mildew. While tiling over existing tiles can save time and money, there are potential drawbacks. The new adhesive may not bond properly, and the process adds extra weight to the wall or floor. Additionally, the increased height of the surface could interfere with door clearances. For the best and most durable results, removing the old tiles before installing new ones is generally the better option.

Glass tiles are among the most difficult to install. This is because their transparency makes the adhesive visible, and any imperfections on the opposite side are also likely to be visible. Glass tiles also must be handled carefully during installation, as they are prone to scratching. For these reasons, glass tiles often require professional installation to get the most out of their beauty and unique look.

The lifespan of bathroom tile can be 50 years or more, depending on proper installation and regular maintenance. A well-done tile job, whether it's a new installation or a retiling project, can last for many decades. To lengthen the life of your tile, it's best to have it installed by a professional and to perform regular maintenance. This includes routine cleaning, resealing, and regrouting as needed. With proper care, you can expect your tile to last 10 years or more before needing major repairs or retiling, especially in high-traffic areas where tiles can wear out more quickly.
