"I highly recommend calling this tile contractor. He was able to give a bid over the phone and that's what it cost and it was significantly lower than some of the other contractors. His work was excellent. He was fast and efficient and his expertise was evident in a perfect job well done"

"I do really enjoy the finished product. I went with wood-look ceramic tile and couldnt be happier with how it looks. The reason they don't get 5 stars though is that after the previous floor was removed and they were preparing the sub-floor, they called me and told me that the floor would need additional concrete leveling. I knew this would be needed, but I was told that the extensiveness of the leveling was included in the initial quote. They wound up charging me an additional $1400 for the leveling. That should have been included in the price they quoted me because it was obvious that it would be necessary in my older home. Expensive, and frustrating but the end result is very good."

"Excellent. We replaced a wood burning fireplace with a gas fireplace. We asked the company to see if they could remove the old tile without damaging it, a tricky task requiring some finesse. They managed to do that very well, and we were able to clean the old tile and have them place the tiles around the new fireplace which required a lot of precise cuts to fit the new fireplace size. They did a great job, and replaced/repaired and textured the sheetrock surrounding the fireplace. The workers were very neat and cleaned up everything when they finished. Highly recommended"

"Gary and Sam were responsive, prompt, very professional and friendly. Their price was very competitive and they did an outstanding job. The carpets look amazing and one in particular was so dirty (dogs, kids and previously poor cleaning jobs) that it looked like new after they deep cleaned it. It didn't look this good after the last company cleaned it. There are way too many bait-and-switch companies out there that mail coupons with unrealistic prices and then up-sell the heck out of you when they come. Not ACS. Gary set my expectations as we discussed high-traffic and other problem areas during the walk-through, including furniture moving, stairs, spot removal etc. After reading so many positive reviews I am happy to add my own. I highly recommend them."

"Carlos and Ernesto did a fantastic job installing tile in two showers and on two floors in our home. They installed a tiled shower, walls and floors, and installed tile over a tub in our second bathroom. It has been several months since they installed and we still love the look and function of their job! We highly recommend their work."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s always a good idea to keep a box or two of spare tiles after a home renovation project. Tiles can crack from improper installation, heavy foot traffic, and impact from drops. Having some extra tile on hand can make replacement fast, easy, and affordable. Plus, some manufacturers might discontinue particular colors or styles, and slight variations in tile colors between batches could mean mismatched tiles even if your product isn’t discontinued. Having a few spare tiles in storage can help avoid these issues, as well.

There are no unbreakable rules of design, but experts recommend against using large tiles in areas with poor subflooring where they’re more prone to cracking, in areas where the floor isn’t entirely level, over raised areas or dips, and in bathrooms where budget is the primary concern. The size of your bathroom shouldn’t be a reason not to use large tiles; in fact, larger tiles, also known as slab tiles, can be a modern and sleek choice for bathroom floors and walls.

Installing kitchen countertop tiles on a mold and moisture-resistant cement backer board is one of the best options. When fitted correctly on top of a plywood base, it’s stable and long-lasting. Old-fashioned cement board is economical, cuts neatly and easily with a circular or jigsaw, and screws into plywood without any difficulty.

Uniform spacing between tiles is important for a professional and clean appearance. To achieve this spacing, tile spacers should be placed between the tiles and left in place until the mortar hardens and the tiles are secure. You can use X-shaped spacers vertically in between the tiles and laid flat at the corners.

Add a T-shaped spacer to each corner of a tile when placing it. You’ll want to nudge the tiles closer together so the spacers are touching each corner. When you’re done installing your tile, you can remove each spacer, wash them, and use them for your next project.
