"I knew I had a wiring issue on a couple fixtures but wasn't sure the extent. Neutral line was old and failed and kept burning out fixtures. Arin and his team were great. They replaced the line and installed new fixtures in under 2 hours. Very pleased with how professional the team was. Highly recommend."

"Victor did an excellent job! He was able to fix or work around previous poor work from other contractors to get our new bathroom fully functional and compete, the whole house fan I installed operational, and a variety of left over punch list items from a remodel we had not finished. He is focused, punctual, and does great work. Pleasure to work with."

"We had a TINY bathroom with almost no storage. It was so small, we could barely turn around in it. Tony came in, listened to what we wanted and immediately designed a remodel. He worked with our budget and did not try to sell us on extras we didn't need or want. His crew was neat and punctual. The job was completed in a reasonable amount of time and best of all, we got EXACTLY what we had hoped for. Two thumbs up for TME!"

"I found home advisor by chance via the Internet. Our panel/a bracket went out for the kitchen; Therefore, our appliances were out of commission. We were assigned, Diego who was to fix our electrical issues. He was great! Diego was prompt, professional, personable and he was observed to be thorough throughout the inspection. He fixed the electrical issues across some additional electrical outlets and things that needed replacing/re-wiring in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Diego/the company to others based off of his work ethic. Thank you for linking us up with a great technician!"

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.

If your fan blades are spinning and there is no airflow, your blade pitch may be too flat, or your motor is failing. Adjusting the pitch is a simple DIY task if you have the tools. A failing motor is a bigger problem. You may need to replace your ceiling fan altogether. But fret not, we’ve got a guide for that!

Never add oil unless the fan is specifically designed for it. Most modern ceiling fans are designed with sealed bearings that don’t require oiling. However, some older fans may have oil ports for lubrication. If your fan is older and you hear squeaking or grinding, check the manual or the manufacturer’s website to see if oiling is recommended.

The most efficient ceiling fan height is 8 to 9 feet from the floor to the fan blades. For ceilings higher than 9 feet, a downrod can be used to lower the fan to the optimal height. This positioning ensures adequate air circulation and maximizes the cooling effect. Remember, fans should be installed at least 7 feet above the floor for safety.

Whole-house fans cost significantly less to run than a window AC unit. You'll pay an average of $0.01 and $0.05 per hour to run a whole-house fan compared to $0.06 to $0.88 per hour for the cost to run a window AC, depending on its size and the size of your home. They also use far less electricity than traditional central AC units.
