"I first met Tony, owner of Nexxus Remodeling, soon after his lead hardwood flooring installer had come to check out my home so they could send me an estimate. My project was to rip out all carpet in my upstairs, and on the stairs from the 1st floor. Even before I had received all bids I’d sought from him and other contractors, Tony found out the floor I’d intended to buy was out of stock. He arranged for me to go to a showroom that has the best inventory and selection I’d seen in my search, and he met me there to personally assist me to find flooring I liked just as well as my first choice. I was soon able to determine that Tony’s bid was very comprehensive and reasonable, but his efforts to help me before even being hired had impressed me just as much. If you want to hire a contractor who will go to extreme lengths to ensure you end up a totally satisfied customer, Tony. He said from the beginning that he wouldn’t consider my flooring project completed until I felt that every detail had been attended to, and he meant it! Tony personally checks in frequently to monitor the project. "We live in South Austin. High winds broke a large tree and it fell on our 8-foot fence. The fence was pulled free from the corner post causing the fence to fall over and dislodge two of the metal posts. I had two other fence companies give bids for the repair. Neither proposal offered the services I requested. Both companies proposed more extensive work with bids from $1350 to $1500. Neither was willing to only replace the damaged posts like I asked, and they couldn’t get to a job “that small" for over three weeks. I called Mark Libby of The Fix It Man Repairs. Mark offered to come the following Wednesday to do a free estimate. I sent pictures of the damage and asked if he could give a “ball park” estimate from the pictures. I asked him to come on that day and fix the fence rather than to just make an estimate. He said he would arrive by 9 AM. He got to our house at 8:45, surveyed the damage, determined what materials would be required, and left to get materials. It turned out that ten-foot steel posts were not readily available at the home improvement stores. He called twice to assure me that he was still looking for posts and had not abandoned me. He returned about 12:30. I thought there was no way one person could finish the project by the end of the day, but I was wrong. He did an excellent job, removed all the scrap pieces, and was finished by 4:45 PM. Mark did the exact task that I had wanted and saved me a substantial amount of money. Mark does work outside of Cedar Park. I will not hesitate to call on him again for my maintenance, repair, and renovation projects. I heartily recommend him to anyone in need of a handyman. Mark knows how to fix it."

"Great job on the house, they had everything installed in 3 days and once the LAWP Panel from the power company and hooked everything, then everything was working well. they took care of all the paper works and documentation, and everything was done quickly. Best price available for us."

"Requested and got estimate for rebuilding 16' square wood deck. Agreed on price and advanced funds for materials, only to receive phone call regarding additional charge for material delivery. Im agreed, and paid. Les came with helper, and removed old deck, piling rotten wood and other waste at corner of yard. When I asked how waste was to be disposed of, he said, "I don't know, that's your responsibility". I had to arrange and pay for delivery of dumpster - Les and his helper did grudgingly agree to help fill the dumpster. While he said the job would take 2 days, and started on Thursday, by the end of the day Friday, when job wasn't finished, he said he couldn't return on Saturday, but would on Sunday. His helper actually seemed more knowledgeable about deck construction. Despite my repeated comments regarding spacing of deck boards, he refused to leave any space between boards, and only said that as boards "dried out", there would be space for drainage. He did return on Sunday, and did finish the deck, and left late Sunday afternoon, without cleaning up any of the surrounding debris. I then spent 2 days picking up debris, deck screws and construction waste from our lawn. Furthermore, in screwing down decking, Les drilled through an electrical cord linking the sprinkler timer to a number of valves. When told about this, he first refused responsibility, the reluctantly returned to replace the damaged wire. After doing so, and even though the sprinkler system still would not work as before, he refused to do any other work to remedy what several knowledgable parties say was clearly his responsibility, including replacing the board that was removed by another handyman to access the wire. After three people who know about these things tried to reset/reprogram timer, it was determined that the puncture of the wire, and the splicing of a new wire improperly by Les has caused the timer's brain to be damaged. Les refused to reimburse us for even part of the cost of new sprinkler timer and installer cost. When confronted by phone, he made a number of accusations regarding other's people being responsible, including our gardner, who has installed many timers without a problem."

"Goodfellas Construction has been spectacular on my bathroom renovation. Built in 1940, the two bedroom one bath house had never had a major renovation. Usually just maintenance to solve what was required to fix an immediate problem. The bathroom was the obvious choice for a renovation starting point - the small shower stall (like a closet with water), cast iron tub, linoleum floor, old pipes and inadequate lighting were really depressing. After asking friends and neighbors and driving by construction sites, I found GOODFELLAS and called to set up a meeting. Danny Gold came to the house, and we talked about what I wanted in the renovation. Based on our discussion, he wrote up a fair estimate and specified the things I would be responsible for providing and the things that Goodfellas would provide. This approach allows the homeowner to personalize the project - you get to select the materials for flooring, vanity, plumbing fixtures, etc. so you have control of what the finshed project will look like. Danny Gold remained the focal point of the construction management effort. He was always available for questions or guidance throughout the project. He is personable and knowledgeable and is always aware of how his subcontractors are progressing. Goodfellas started in the bathroom, but as I could see the resullts of their work, the scope of the project enlarged - Re-pipe, Drain line upgrade, Electrical upgrade, Forced Air furnace replacement and painting. Goodfellas brought in their specialty subcontractors and never failed to please. The subcontractors were always on time, and ready to work for as long as it took to finish. Considering the extent of the work being done, the level of inconvenience for me was always a priority. Contractors left the job as clean as possible, and kept me in the loop as to what was going to happen next and when they would be finished with each subsequent phase. Goodfellas worked well with the City of Glendale permitting department, Department of Water and Power and the individual inspectors that certified the work. At each inspection, a Goodfellas representative and the subcontractor were available to answer any question or concern that arose. I like Goodfellas so much I’m going for the kitchen remodel next week."
