A 3rd generation master stone mason, Joe is an old school modern craftsman who produces quality builds. I engaged him to demolish and rebuild virtually all of the hardscape at my home---driveway, side walkways, French drain, brick patio inserts, and over 150 feet of retaining walls. A 7-week job, with more than a few moving parts. Joe’s team, Enrique and Claudio, worked like stunt men in a choreographed manner, carefully removing thousands of pounds of old concrete and cinder blocks, positioning rebar and framing the sites for cement. The worksite was clean and orderly at the end of each day. Then, 2 generations of Messineo---Joe, with a guest appearance by his father, built a complex series of retaining walls and brick inserts, that will clearly last decades longer than the original work from 1959. Every line dead-level, every elevation plumb, and every surface finished perfectly. The concrete team that completed the job with 2 truckloads of wet mix, delivered flawless slabs of new surface. Their overall level of craftsmanship and professionalism is not often to be seen these days, and it deserves recognition when it arrives."

He took great care, time, and effort to make sure that it was done correctly and now it looks as good as new! I also had him fix some water damage to a wall caused by a leak in the ceiling. "I had an under-the-sink leaky old galvanized iron drain pipe that rusted through and made a wet mess under the sink. George tried for the simpler fix first and did not open the wall. That still leaked so he opened the wall and determined that the whole section of pipe was leaking inside the wall too. This was a bigger mess but George removed the fittings etc that he had bought, cut out the bad section of iron pipe and installed a section of ABS drain pipe that won't leak, reconnected the sink drains, tested everything and we were done. He only charged me for the material used in the actual repair. He said he would use the fittings that didn't work out for me on another job. George is efficient and neat - my father in law would have approved of his cleaning up the mess as he worked instead of waiting until he was all done with gunk from the pipes, plaster dust and random crap everywhere. I will definitely call him the next time I need home maintenance help."
