"We had a door issue which left our business vulnerable. Jay and his crew came out on a Saturday and put in 6 hours getting our shop buttoned up tight. They went out of our way to get it done, and they did it right."

"Excellent work on a sliding glass door and screen replacement. The door which had not been installed well by another company actually slides better than when it was brand new."

"We have an unusual 20-year old Pella sliding glass door that was sticking and crunching. Mike had the roller replacement that was needed and was able to repair my door in less than a half hour. Very professional and pleasant. Door is running smooth as silk."

"Showcase Window and Door installed 3 sliding glass doors and 23 windows in our 2 story home in Orange County, CA. Mark Britton advised us on window and installation types (retrofit and new build) and we went with a combination of both. His measurements were spot on and his crew was clean, efficient and professional every step of the way. Highly recommend Showcase Window & Door to get it done right!"

"We were having problems with our double front entry doors and a sliding screen door. Jose took a look at the front door, analyzed the problem and had it working perfectly in just a few minutes. He did the same with the sliding screen door. Very quick, polite an professional, and reasonably priced. We're planning to use him for other repairs."

"I hired Kyle for a $14,000 home remodeling project based on reviews from Angie's List and Yelp, and overall, I am satisfied with the work Kyle and his team performed and I feel like I got my money's worth. Below are my thoughts: 1. Timeliness: Kyle's crew showed up on time every day and stuck to the schedule. The entire project stayed mostly on track. Things were slightly delayed due to city inspection, but that was a factor beyond Kyle's control. So definitely an A there. 2. Quality of work - I had three major projects in this remodeling, and below are my thoughts on them: a. Conversion of a bedroom into a mudroom/entry room to garage: For some reason this new house I bought did not have an access door from garage directly into the house, so I hired Kyle to remedy this by turning a bedroom that shares a common wall with the garage into a mud room with an access door. Job involved cutting the wall open and installing a fire rated entry door, as well as removing old wall paper and repainting the room. This job was done very well and definitely an A there. b. Bathroom remodeling: I also had Kyle remove an old bathtub & tile surround and replace it with a new jacuzzi tub, new tiles and an updated tub door. We also had the toilet repositioned as well. Final quality of work was very nicely done and we were very pleased with how the new tiles turned out. Regrettably, the new bath tub got a small 1" size scratch on one of the rim and I had to touch up paint it afterwards. So A-/B+ there due to my new tub getting scratched up during tile installation. c. House electrical upgrade: I had Kyle and his crew installing an 100 amp subpanel with 2x 50 amp outlets in the garage for EV charging. I also had multiple new outlets installed throughout the house. All the newly installed outlets worked very well and I am pleased with the results. However, after all the electrical work were done, three of my outlets in the house lost power due to a "open neutral". To make a long story short, Kyle's crew tried to trouble shoot it for the better part of a day but couldn't figure out what caused it. All the worker could say is that he doesn't think it was caused by their work. As this happened at the very end of the entire remodeling project and I was uncertain whose fault it was, I ended up just letting it go. Subsequently I did more troubleshooting on my own and after several hours of trial-and-error testing using a multimeter, I found a loose neutral wire in a bathroom switch box Kyle's crew worked on. The loose neutral wire was covered up by a bunch of other wire and wire nuts in the switch box. Once that wire was reconnected, the three dead outlets became functional again. My guess is that the wire got shaken loose when Kyle's crew swap out the switches in that box with new light and fan switches, and no one realized it because that wire was buried behind other wires. I can understand how Kyle's worker missed it while trying to trouble shoot this issue. However, I'm still a bit miffed that I end up having to fix this problem myself. Thus, while the newly installed outlets are great, I am not too thrilled with the fact that his worker knocked a wire loose while changing out bathroom switches and couldn't fix the problem. So on this part of the project, I would give Kyle's team an A on the new outlets and C for causing collateral damage on my other outlets that I had to fix myself. 3. Conclusion - other than the problems with the loose neutral wire and the scratch to the new tub noted above, everything else went smoothly. Thus, in light of the scope of this remodeling project, I decided that these two issues are minor and don't detract too much from the overall success. Thus, I ended up giving Kyle and his crew an A- overall."

Doors questions, answered by experts

New homeowners in Orange County should prioritize upgrading entry doors for enhanced security and curb appeal, especially if living in a gated community with HOA guidelines. Installing weatherstripping and energy-efficient patio doors helps with climate control. Reinforcing door frames, adding smart locks, and checking for wildfire-rated materials are also wise steps to protect against local risks and improve comfort.

Helpful?

In Orange County, homes with hillside foundations, older stucco exteriors, or non-standard door sizes often require custom door solutions. Signs like sticking doors, uneven gaps, or moisture stains may indicate structural movement or water intrusion. Open floor plans with multiple patio doors or homes in wildfire zones may need extra weatherproofing and fire-rated materials to meet local building codes and HOA standards.

Helpful?

Orange County homeowners often select fiberglass or steel doors with impact-resistant glass for security and energy efficiency. Coastal contemporary and modern farmhouse styles are popular, as are bold colors like navy and black. Smart locks, video doorbells, and retractable screens are in demand, especially for patio doors. Fire-rated materials and HOA-approved designs are also key considerations in many neighborhoods.

Helpful?

In Orange County, door service projects last longer when homeowners choose weatherproof materials and UV-resistant finishes to withstand the coastal sun and salty air. Proper installation is crucial, especially for homes in wildfire-prone or seismic areas. Ensuring doors meet local energy efficiency codes, using corrosion-resistant hardware, and addressing HOA restrictions all contribute to long-term durability and compliance.

Helpful?

After door service in Orange County, inspect for settling or misalignment within the first month, especially in hillside or seismic zones. Test weatherproofing during the first rain and lubricate hinges to prevent corrosion from ocean air. Every six months, check for UV fading and replace worn weatherstripping. Annually, review security features and ensure compliance with any HOA or wildfire safety requirements.
