Repair was simple. Door had become uncoupled from opener. Technician reattached opener, tested door and that was it. The cost was the minimum service call quote

The tech successfully identified and corrected the problem on why one door would not raise & lower via remote control. One the second, and more complex problem of the tracks on both doors, he looked at them but didn't take measurements or notes nor did he say whether the company would or could do the work, he just left. I expected an estimate and a quote, but got neither.

Unfortunately they did not live up to their deal. After I initiated contact to schedule the appointment, I was told that there would be an additional $39.99 charge on top of the $125 which was the price on the coupon. No where on the deal did it mention there was an additional charge. They claimed due to my location, Newport coast, they had to charge a service fee for the drive. $40 for 10 miles, very unprofessional for this business to not stand behind the deal. I would not look to use them for any further business.

The estimator showed up on time, however no identifying signs or tags of the company on the vehicle or estimators clothing. Estimate was quick, he then told me the price and said he needs $400 now. I said I’m still taking estimates and he said ok did they tell you there is a $29 service charge? I told him no one said that and I’m not paying it. He said ok that’s fine and we parted ways.

Our OLD automatic garage unit failed, and simply would not close without much hassle and fuss. I called OC Garage Doors and explained the problem to the receptionist who immediately booked me in Saturday morning (the very next day)! I did NOT expect that fast of an appointment because it really was not an EMERGENCY. Saturday morning John (the owner) called to say he was 15-minutes away in the time parameters given when the appointment was booked, and arrived to immediately diagnose the problem and offer several options, each of which he discussed thoroughly with us. We chose to have the MOTOR unit replaced with a much newer/better system because ours was quite simply done! John had to leave for other appointments, and to get the unit we had agreed upon (again after discussing several new unit options to fit our budget), and said he would be back in a few hours to install. Sure enough, John was back at the time he promised, and immediately went to work installing our great new system. When he finished, he cleaned up thoroughly and took the old unit with him to recycle. All I can say is 5-stars is just NOT enough for this fantastic company. This is a company that truly does what it promises, when it says it will. John is an incredibly hard worker who truly cares about his business, his customers and his work. Thank you so much John for being the true professional you are!!!!

Receptionist quickly indicated that "we don't work with Genie" products, giving no explanation. Would be better for them to put said disclaimer on their Angie List for better transparency.

They were the first company that was able to come out within a couple of hours. The technician arrived within the allotted time, and quickly ran through the prices (parts, labor & sales tax) to replace both springs on my double door. The work was completed quickly and the door was working fine. When it was time to pay I was just given a total price and was told he prefered a check and that I would get a emailed receipt. The total seemed a little high, based on my quick mental total, but I figured I was missing something and I'd look at the receipt. Unfortunately, the emailed receipt just also showed the total price. I did get a chance to get a detailed receipt when someone from the company called to make sure we were satisfied. Once I took a look at the totals, I realized I was overcharged for the cost of the springs, the trip charge (I was told it would be waived if they did the work), and they charged sales tax on the total - including the labor which is not taxable. Before I had a chance to call them, they called again to make sure I was satisfied and when I mentioned the price discrepancy, I was told they would send me a refund for the difference. 3 days later I actually got a check! Overall, they were able to get there quickly and do a good job. I would just get a written estimate before the job is started.

It went great the gentleman that came out to my house his name was John was prompt and courteous repaired my garage door came to my house at 10 at night who does that anymore and within one hour my garage door was fixed and with a busy schedule I had the next day that was just one less thing I had to worry about I would definitely call them again if I had a problem with my door reasonable prices too

They were polite, punctual, and I honestly wish I had called them sooner! The garage door no longer wakes our sleeping newborn.

We called on a Sunday and John was at our home within 2 hours. He immediately saw that a spring was broken. He did the repair in less than an hour. he was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would hire him again.

They replaced the motor and got everything working again.

The door was a 1946 wooden pullup. The fact it was not an automatic seemed to confuse the salesman. Not everyone needs or wants the current fashion. Having said that , the work did get done even though the garage foundation was tilted due to a large tree. The workers seemed to be from a different company.

the spring on my garage door broke a few months ago and I called Orange County Garage doors to fix. they came out promptly and replaced the spring. since then I have had a few issues, today I cannot open the Garage door and the cable are off the spools. Just tried calling Orange County Garage Door and their phone number says they are un-reacheble :(

Excellent other then price. The tech was there in less than two hours, and completed the work in 30 minutes. I was charged $850. Although this seemed extremely excessive, I had little choice. My advice is to be sure to get another quote prior to commitment. (Please note that I did not know what the problem was (the spring) prior to the tech's arrival).

I called a few places this morning and only OC Garage Doors was able to schedule me same-day. Their tech showed up at 12:30 as promised and had the springs replaced within the hour. Super kind and knowledgable, an easy process. I'd hire them again.

They were excellent. The technician explained everything to me and he was very nice.

Wow, great service from OC Garage Doors. I called today, Sunday 9/25/16 at 958AM,and got an immediate appointment. I was told that the technician will arrive between 11AM-1PM. Tom, the technician, showed up at 1113AM and got to work immediately. After inspection, he told us that the garage door motor is 19 years old, in which I did not know that it lasted that long, and will need to be replaced soon. He gave us the options of repairing the old one (but not sure how long the unit will last still) versus installing a brand new motor and tracks unit. My husband and I weren't prepared to purchase a new garage unit but after the cost vs. benefits analysis, we've decided to go ahead and have the new unit installed. Tom was extremely professional, he did not pressure us into buying the unit, and knows his trade very well. He installed the brand new unit with new tracks and everything in less than an hour. I was impressed that he also cleaned up after himself. The work save us so much time and bothersome of manually lowering and opening the garage door for the past 2 weeks. Thanks Tom. I don't know the average rate to instalI a brand new garage unit but thus far looking online, OC Garage Doors rate seems average and comparable to the competitions. Tom mentioned that the warrantee for parts and labors is 3 years so we're very happy about it. I would highly recommends OC Garage Doors, asked for Tom if you call. GREAT GREAT WORK OC GARAGE DOORS.

The installers were prompt, professional, and very quick with installation. While I think the price is on the high side (I went with a brand new belt drive), the service is top notch. Even after the service, I hadn't received the emailed invoice so I contacted via cell phone, and the installer was quick to call back and resend it. Highly recommend -- you get what you pay for.

Everything went very well. The technician, Johnathan, was very quick and knowledgeable. He showed up on time and gave me an advance call. We had a power failure, so he couldn't finish adjusting the door. When power came back on I called him and he was still in the area. He showed up in 5 minutes and finished. I would not hesitate to use this company again. I did not price shop, but was looking for responsiveness and they were very responsive. However, I think the price was fair all things considered.

I called to get a price from them for installing a garage door opener for my dad's house. The guy in service gave me a price. I asked him if I could use the coupon in Angie's List that I saw in their listing ($50 off any repair), and he said "No. The price is the coupon price." So I told him let me relay the message to my dad, and he just hung up on me! Didn't wait for me to even finish my sentence. I would never recommend these guys to anyone!!! The funny part is that they're so sophisticated that just by phone number they knew who I was and that they had replaced my dad's garage door last year! But no professionalism in their conduct. Poor, poor, poor....

Technician arrived within the 2 hour window and called ahead to advise of exact time. Did the work in about 40 minutes. He was organized, had the proper tools to adjust the spring, and was neat in completing the work. Would use them again.

When I called, appointment was made for same day, between 10 and 12. At 11:30, I received a call that, due to emergencies, John would arrive about 12:30--and he did. John was pleasant and professional. He obviously knew his trade and worked quickly and surely. Entire job took about 45 minutes. I will definitely call John again for any future garage door issues.
