"I hired Craftsman Home Builders to Tex coat and Cool Wall the exterior of my home. l’m very happy with how my home looks! The workers took pride in their work and cleaned up after themselves. At the same time, I ordered some fire, ember screens from another company, and I was told by Craftsman Home Builders that they would go ahead and install them for me. The other company delayed the delivery of my screens by almost a month and a half. But, I was still assured that they would go ahead and install them when the screens arrived. When they were finally delivered, the workers came to install them. But the custom-made screens were the wrong size. Somewhere along the line, a measurement error had occurred. I was assured by Jordan, an officer of Craftsman Home Builders that the error was not on my end and that they would make good on their promise. I was told they would adjust the siding to accommodate the screens, or re-order the screens at their expense. Together, we problem solved and they were able to install the screens to my satisfaction in a very swift, and professional manner. I’m happy to recommend this company to anyone that wants good work done on their home."

"I contacted this company via Angie's list and was very honest that I only needed 2 rooms painted. They contacted me promptly and sent an estimator the next day. The estimator, of course, tried to upsell me on having the entire condo painted. I advised I really only needed the two rooms. He advised he'd send me a quote for the whole condo, but that he could adjust it down if I requested. When I requested a quote for what I had wanted all along, 2 rooms, he told me the job was too small for them to consider. When I contacted the company about this experience, one of the owners contacted me and agreed to do the job for $1,200. The painters contacted me on their final day and when I went to do the walk through, they left a mess. They also broke my disposal by pouring paint/painter's tape down the sink into the disposal (I saw them dumping a bucket into the sink when I arrived home). I turned on the disposal and it was clearly broken. I put my hand into the sink and pulled out painter's tape. I let the owner know that the painter's broke the disposal and he initially told me they'd fix it. The day he said he'd send a handyman, I was unavailable and asked if they could do another day. I've not yet heard back, so I guess they are not going to repair the disposal that their painter broke."

When you’re considering hiring a painter, a quote should include the following items:

You may need to provide your own paint, depending on the agreement you make with the painter. Some painters prefer that you buy the paint and they supply the labor. However, some professional painters get a better price on paint and can pass that savings along to you even after accounting for labor costs.
The average cost to paint a ceiling ranges from $3 to $8.50 per square foot, which is about $1 to $2.50 more per square foot than the cost to paint the walls. Rooms with high ceilings require working from a ladder or scaffolding and often include trim or detail work, which adds to the final price.
Professional painters charge $20 to $50 per hour, on average. Hourly rate cost factors include the complexity of the paint job, the type of paint, the height of the walls and ceiling, and the type of prep and repairs needed. For example, removing wallpaper costs an additional $3 per square foot because it can be very time consuming and labor intensive. Your location will also impact the hour rate.
