"I'm in total shock from this horrible review . I would invite absolutely anyone to come and see how beautiful these 2 bedrooms look , and they were in terrible condition as it is a very old house and they had not been painted in a very long time . We bent over backwards and did all kinds of extra details for Margo . I also saw that her very nice and expensive custom made mahogany front door was in really bad condition due to UV sun damage and I gave her a super cheap price to sand this door down to bare wood and then restain if and then apply satin polyurethane and made it look like brand new . I did this primarily to be of service and I am very experienced and very skilled at this . We also refinished her wood screen door beautifully , installed new screening, AND installed new hinges , and all of this for a way better price than I would typically charge . Margo was the one that also told me that someone wanted a very high price to put a new polyurethane finish on her kitchen cabinets and I offered to do this for less than half the price. I'm very busy right now with work so I wasn't at all trying to get more work out of her. She's 85 years old and I really tried to please her in every way, but I understand with my own parents that people get extremely fussy and hard to please at this age. In all honesty in my many many years of being a painting contractor, I have never been quite so shocked to see such a terrible review when we did such a nice job and tried so hard to please them. I Sincerely, wish Margot well but must say that it was really a shock and even Hurt my feelings to read her review after we did such a nice job for her."
"This customer was totally happy and satisfied all through the job and also when we were done. She only expressed how much she liked everything and was very grateful for the help I had given her to select her colors. I always want my customers to be completely satisfied. This bad rating came more than 9 months after we worked for her and came as a shock and surprise to me. Had I known that there were any reason whatsoever that she was unhappy about I would have been more than happy to go and rectify it, I do not know why she chose only to write this bad review and the number rating makes absolutely no sense compared to how happy she was when we left the job."
"We even did extra work for her that few painters would do. There was old paint that was too far up on the ceiling and we went around the high, two story walls and touched up with a paint I had, that matched her ceiling. It was high and in a stairwell and was hard to get to but looked bad so I did it unasked. At the end of the first day she told me that we had to finish by noon the next day. She hadn"t asked for any assurance that we would finish in 1 day and I had not given any such promise. In all sincerity, my advice to her to get some paint on her dried out and peeling exterior wood was for her benefit. We are quite busy with work."
"We did an excellent job on a house that was very run down and poorly maintained. AT THE END OF THE JOB I DISCOVERED THAT DENA HAD HIRED , BEHIND MY BACK , ONE OF MY PAINTERS THAT HAD BEEN WITH ME FOR 5 YEARS TO COME AND DO WORK THAT SHE AND I HAD TALKED ABOUT DOING AT A LATER DATE , UNFORTUNATELY, I HAD TO FIRE HIM . SHE BECAME VERY ANGRY AND DEFENSIVE WHEN I TOLD HER THIS WAS UNETHICAL THE LAST I SAW HER SHE WAS SMILING AND APOLOGETIC. I WAS TOTALLY SHOCKED TO READ HER SCATHING UNTRUTHS. MY FOREMAN HAS BEEN WITH ME 15 YRS. ALMOST ALL OF MY CUSTOMERS LOVE US AND CALL US BACK AND REFER US TO FRIENDS."
"The 2nd day on the job I met (customers name removed by HomeAdvisor) in the morning . There was a small drop of paint ( smaller than a dime ) on the kitchen tile floor. She made an enormous issue and complaint about it. It took me about 2 seconds to remove it. She is 1 in 200 of picky, perfectionist, clients. She used 18 colors on a small 2 bedroom condo, the kitchen had 5 shades of blue . She is " special " . She described herself as obsessive . I quickly and easily cleaned up any and every tiny spot of paint she pointed out. She told me she was very happy with our job at the end."
"I went to great pains and spent a huge amount of time ( at no charge) working with her to get the colors dialed in to where she was super happy. She was totally pleased with our quality of work. She would not let us come when she was at work. 98% of clients do allow us to work when they are not there. I accommodated her schedule nearly perfectly."
"GEORGE said he would call me back to touch up around the fireplace and a door frame he was going to do some carpentry on. I called him after one week to check back with him and he was upset. He had been very happy when the job ended and was super pleased with our work."
