I have used Ernie and his crews three times. First time was 2020 to paint the interior and exterior of my home in Encinitas. This was part of a larger remodel. Ernie worked with me on the every changing construction schedule. I could not be happier about the work, attention to detail, courtesy, clean workspace, and determination to please. I called Ernie to paint my daughter's condo in Carmel Valley in the summer of 2022. Again, the work was excellent and timely. Today Ernie's crew is completing work on our master suite (not included in the work in 2020). Ernie, Jesus and Candido worked with me on the scope, schedule and colors. The work is again excellent with careful attention to detail. I can recommend this company without any hesitation. They are worth every penny.

Ernie came out and bid the job, estimating that it would cost $7,900. Payment was issued in thirds. One third when the prep work started, one third when the prep work was completed, and one third when the paint was completed. 2/3rds of the way through the job. Ernie increased the price by $2,700. I negotiated that down to $1,600. I could not find anyone to complete the work for less. The work was completed and the house looked good. I had to call Ernie back, however, because his crew forgot to paint the eaves, windows, window frames, sides of the windows on the second floor. There was also quite a bit of over-spray as well. The window frames on the first floor were gouged out by the prep work. There are grinder marks on one of the windows itself. 25 DAYS AFTER THE JOB WAS COMPLETED THE PAINT STARTED CRACKING AND PEELING!! SEE PHOTOS.

The Good: The workers were on time and courteous. Very competitive price. Very flexible with handling odds-and-ends around the house. The owners were very responsive to questions and concerns. The Bad: Overall a slight sloppiness, especially with brushwork, that would be fine for an exterior paint job but was noticable indoors. Examples: Several paint lines between colors were wavy and appear to have been painted by hand without using masking tape or an edging tool. Some paint drips that ran down the wall and dried. Some overspray onto doorknobs and other hardware. Conclusion: For the price, I am happy with the work. I will fix any small annoyances myself.
