- DOMCO PLUMBING INCThe company quickly sent a specialist out to pump the septic tank and asess the source of the problem. It took some time to find the septic tank in our back yard so he inserted a TV camera through the access pipe at our house to locate it. He had to dig down 24 inches to uncover it. The specialist quickly pumped the tank despite the fact that it had not been pumped for at least 15 years. He also inspected the outflow part of the system to see whether there were further problems. After inspection of the tank and its outflow, he suspected that there were problems with the distribution system to the dry wells and/or with the dry wells themselves. He recommended they do a TV inspection of the distribution boxes and, if necessary, of the dry wells. However, before leaving, he discovered a significant inflow of water from a leaking toilet. We agreed that I should discuss the situation with the company owner, whom we spoke to the next day. After we explained the problem with the leaking toilet and volume of inflow, he said that he believed that excessive inflow was the source of our problem, not a clogged distribution system. He told us to wait two weeks to see whether the problem recurred. After two weeks, the water level in the septic tank was normal. So, no further work was necessary. It would have been very easy for the company to urge us to do the TV inspection of the distribution system, because some water flowed back into the septic tank when we emptied it and the water contained debris. However, because the owner diagnosed the problem correctly, we saved several hundred dollars and may have avoided having to replace one or more dry wells at the cost of thousands of dollars. I also used this company to repair the leaking toilet, which they did quickly and inexpensively.. As far as we are concerned, this company is responsive, competent and honest. I would use them again any time

"We got 3 estimates ranging from $13K to $8K and America's Plumbing was in the middle. Lyle from America's Plumbing was by far the most professional and thorough estimate. He crawled under the house and inspected all plumbing inside the house. The others did not look under the house. America's Plumbing also provided 3 references at my request and the references were all excellent. The job was estimated for a week (5 days) but it took about 8 days to be totally done and cleaned up. It started on a Monday and finished the following Monday. Payment was made after each days work until the final payment on Friday. The cost was about $200 less than the estimate which was a nice surprise. Lyle worked the weekend at no additional cost and was very courteous and professional during all phases of the project. We had one small leak a few months after the job and Lyle was out right away to fix it a no charge. He also inspected all previous work (water heater and under the house) and pressure tested the system again to be sure there were no other leaks.

"We had a sudden spike in water usage two weekends ago. It was clearly from the water pipe attached to the sprinkler system manifold. I attempted to repair it myself, but the fix didn't take. I called Armstrong based on their reviews on this site. We set up an appointment for the morning (8-12) on the 26th; there was no rush for the fix as we wouldn't need to use the sprinklers for a while and shutting off the water to the sprinkler system stopped the flow. I received a text message on the 25th confirming my appointment for 8am-12pm on the 26th. At 11:55 on the 26th, I called for a status check on the technician. They had me on their schedule for the afternoon. It was confirmed that the text message I was sent confirmed the earlier time frame. They had no explanation for the error. Still not a major issue, but now my entire day was shot. The technician arrived within the time frame. He assessed the issue. It required a simply re-cementing of the fittings, but he wasn't sure it would work (outside temperatures, the PVC pipe itself, etc). He also didn't have the zip ties he wanted that would help secure the pipes while the cement was curing; I didn't have any, either, but I did come with an alternative that he found acceptable. He completed the work, and basically said that we'll have to see if it worked. The good news is that we have some time before I have to turn the water on again which will give the cement time to set. He did offer a quote for replacement of the entire sprinkler manifold as a permanent solution. Although I recognize there are variables in repairs and that it may truly need additional work, I was underwhelmed by the service received.

"Alex the repairman was awesome. Work is done right and looks great. Even the rough patch on the dry wall couldn't have looked better. Now getting them to respond to my request thru this web site. Not too good. I informed the office he was going to have to climb under the house. The web site says free estimate. It cost $250 for that. They didn't tell me. I waited 2 fays for that bombshell. The office informed me he was on his way to my rental. When I fact he wasn't on his way for another hour and a half. Communication with office was my only issue.
