Pacific Coast Termite has a great history serving California since 2007 by co-owners Dennis Wilson and James Grande. Both men agree that a large part of their company’s growth is attributed to word of mouth and referrals along with great reviews and A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau have also helped. Today the company has full in-house wood working divisions, offers comprehensive termite control, rodent control, and attic services such as attic cleaning and TAP pest control insulation to replace old soiled attic insulation.

"Horrible experience, the employees were very poorly trained. They severely underestimated the time to do the job. They sealed holes in vent screens with big globs of unsightly goo. The crawlspace access door wouldn't stay closed do they pried a stepping stone out of the garden and used that to hold it closed. They spit sunflower seed shells all over, including on our front porch furniture. They vacuumed the old insulation out of the attic but there was a leak in their system and it spewed old insulation and rat droppings all over the inside of our garage and on open storage shelves, and they didn't clean it up. They only apply blown-in insulation and our ducts are covered with sheet insulation, so they didn't remove that insulation or the rat droppings on the tops of the ducts. I could go on...."

Planet Orange was established as a sustainable friendly pest control and termite company. Headquartered in San Jose, CA, they serve the greater Bay Area (Napa to Monterey). Known as the innovators and leaders in botanical plant-based treatments for termites, including orange oil, their products are people and pet-friendly. They are only one of two companies in CA to offer new non-drilling subterranean termite treatments and offer Bluetooth solutions for rodent monitoring. They provide a broad range of green services (GreenPro Certified) to protect the home. From termites to spiders, ants, rodents, cockroaches, bed bugs, yellow jackets, and silverfish, they provide effective eco-friendly solutions. Planet Orange was voted 2013 Small Business of the Year by the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber. They also have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Their approach and products have earned them the trust of the San Francisco Giants, the San Jose Sharks, Stanford Athletics, and the San Jose Earthquakes.

"Planet Orange is a very great company for termite control. I have been a customer for more than 5 years now. Because of their great service and treatment of termites, I still have a good house to live in. There are no more termites in the areas after they did the treatment. I have a three-story house. Some areas were very difficult to reach, but they found a way to do the treatment anyway. Planet Orange is the company you can count on for taking care of your home that has termites. I will highly recommend it to all the people I know!"

"Sergio and his crew did an outstanding job. Sergio is highly detail-oriented and makes you feel that you are part of the project by explaining in detail and with a number of photos the repairs required. His work is high quality and my house stands out now, with a beautiful paining job, a new patio and a drainage system. My experience in general with contractors has been stressful. Sergio made me feel at ease because of his dedication and conscientiousness. Three months have gone by and I am still very pleased with my experience and the quality of Sergio’s Repairs. I will not hesitate to hire him and his crew again."

I run a general contracting company which specializes in residential and light commercial work. This requires me to subcontract some parts of a large job out. All subcontractors are highly skilled at their trades.A good portion of a job is completed myself. I also have an electrical license where all of the work is completed myself. I pride my company and reputation as always being punctual and deliver the highest quality work. Small 1-2 day jobs are done on a time and materials basis. For larger jobs, the client is given a proposal/contract for review and signed acceptance before any work begins. I have never had a complaint from a client and have many repeat customers. It will be my pleasure to meet with you to discuss your projects. I have a B-General building license and C-10 electrical license. (Lic#853025)Thank you.

Where high quality, competitive pricing and excellent customer service are key components of everything we do. Bay Area Rodent Solutions provides quality service to the entire Bay Area. We specialize in rodent clean-ups, sanitation, inspections, rodent exclusion and repairs. You can count on Bay Area Rodent Solutions for a service customized to your needs.

"Bay Area Rodent failed on all of this work. Background: Our home had cold tile floors in the winter time. We called on ‘Bay Area Rodent’ in 2015 to come up with a solution and possibly change out the floor joist insulation. “Solution”: The company sales person came out in and provided an estimate to 1) replace our existing R11X16 insulation with ‘encapsulated insulation’ R19X16 and also 2) install an 8 mil vapor barrier to the flooring in our crawl space, and 3) perform a cleanup service. The salesperson claimed that this vapor barrier would reduce the cold up above on our tile floors. In addition, the estimate called for “cleanup service,” to cleanup some large debris on the crawl space dirt, that I wanted removed. Experience: The workers arrived at our house and and left within a few hours. When I needed to go into the crawlspace a few months later, I checked on and was appalled by the work that Bay Area Rodent did, failing on every single item of their work. “Install 8 mil vapor barrier to the flooring in the front crawl space.” What we got: The workers basically laid down on the dirt undersized 4 mil plastic and also missed an entire corner of the crawlspace. "Cleanup & Sub-flooring insulation & cleanup service." What we got: No Cleanup, not one bit. There were still large, abandoned pieces of plumbing and duct work left right on the dirt, and they covered this debris with the new vapor barrier! I noticed this immediately when crawling underneath. Install R19x16 Encapsulated fiberglass insulation to the sub-flooring. The insulation installed was NOT encapsulated but cheap, loose insulation which was already sagging to the crawl space dirt in many places. I contacted the company about the problems to get someone to fix these issues. Two weeks later, they sent someone out. They replaced the new insulation with the correct encapsulated insulation and removed some of the debris, great! However, they failed again with the vapor barrier install! Instead of removing the undersized 4MIL vapor barrier, they DOUBLED UP and laid down a SECOND layer of 4MIL vapor barrier, on top of the existing one. My crawl space became totally unusable, as there was not plastic strewn everywhere, making it difficult to even navigate underneath my home. Eventually, they came out and fixed this problem, and added a single layer of plastic, however the worst kicker was about to ensue. A few years later, I was underneath our home and noticed that there is white (mold?) fungal growth everywhere underneath this vapor barrier! This was horrifying to see and when I called Stanley from Bay Area Rodent, he tried blaming this on plumbing problems. While our new home, new plumbing and drains did have an issue at one time, we quickly repaired it. Experts looked at their problems and stated that the cause in fact of the moisture, is from water runoff on adjacent hillsides during the winter wet months. This work has resulted in us having to hire numerous mold experts to test and remediate this company’s terrible work. One professional contractors commented that the work of Bay Area Rodent was the worst that he had seen of anyone in his 20 years career. I am extremely dissatisfied with this work and for their proposed solution and advise you also to steer clear."

Licensed construction company with 25 years experience in the tri-county area. we have various levels of employee's from laborers to master carpenters, using only a finely selected group of sub contractors who have been with me for many years. General contractors license number 829821 there is No charge for estimates or proposals, our trip charge depends on locality and distance from our shop area, but always under $ 100.00. Our hourly rate varies from employee to employee as we only charge for what you need done and depends largely on the project. A first time discount for Angie's List customers of 10 % off of labor when mentioning Angie's List.

"Contractor ruined our kitchen floor because he leveled and installed flooring incorrectly and ultimately had to remove it. He recommended a subcontractor to fix his poor leveling and flooring job but has refused to repay us for the damaged flooring we had to replace and for the work we had to pay the flooring installers to fix his work. We were left with a hole in our kitchen floor for months. The work done was sub par and he never completed the finishing touches he promised. There were also several instances throughout the job when he came by the house without consulting us first."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Doubling the insulation in your home also doubles the R-value of said insulation. In other words, by adding more insulation, you can reduce the heat loss by half. Most homes benefit from increasing insulation. Older homes, in particular tend to have less insulation as is, so doubling your insulation could drastically reduce your energy bills, keep your home more comfortable, and take the strain off your HVAC system.

Choose affordable materials for a cost-effective insulation installation (say that five times fast). The most affordable insulation for your garage is fiberglass. Fiberglass comes in batts or rolls and is relatively easy to install compared to other types of insulation. You can also install this insulation without needing to drywall over it, which can cut down costs.

While more is seemingly always better when it comes to energy efficiency, your house does need some interaction with its environment. Adding too much insulation can affect your home's ability to breathe. Breathing simply means ventilating itself to reduce accumulated moisture within it. Too much insulation can physically block the venting ability or be enough to trap the moisture and damage the insulation or the house.

When installing metal siding, a high-quality house wrap is considered the best protection against condensation and moisture infiltration. House wraps can increase a home's efficiency significantly. However, a house wrap is not a replacement for a vapor barrier because it can be permeable when moist air passes through siding. This is why it's essential to follow manufacturer instructions for insulating siding when installing new siding.

Air sealing isn't necessary for attic insulation, but it's incredibly helpful since it can help you identify and patch any existing air leaks. Failing to find these leaks before adding insulation can render your insulation less effective, leading to higher energy bills and potentially costly repairs down the line.
