"We hired McCormick to remodel our master bathroom, and the process couldn’t have been smoother. Khaled guided us through everything, and his team was skilled and respectful. They handled the job efficiently, stayed within budget, and kept our home tidy. Now, our bathroom feels like a relaxing oasis, with high-quality finishes and a modern touch we love. McCormick’s attention to detail really made the difference, and I’d gladly hire them for future remodels. This experience was everything we hoped for."

"We were remodeling our home and before we finished wanted to have Scout out to inspect and make sure we were safe to close the walls. She not only flagged two areas that we were able to immediately fix but she also saved us so much stress and money down the road. Thank you to her and her wonderful handler."

"I wasn't sure what to expect when hiring a leak repair and mold expert. After his inspection, Jared told us what the process would be. Then, sealed off the area affected and did a neat clean up and rebuild for us. Fortunately, his prices were reasonable and his workmanship was great. After his team finished, the area was re-assembled nicer than when the builder did the work. Hopefully, we don't have any more leaks in the wall. But, I will call him again, if I have a need."

Biohazard Remediation FAQs, answered by experts

It’s possible that installing solar panels can lead to mold on the roof. The panels themselves are not the issue. Problems caused by improper installation—such as roof leaks and mounts that aren’t sealed properly—can cause mold. Another potential cause of mold is debris accumulation under panels, which can trap moisture. If you live somewhere with extreme snow, rain, or hail, your home could be more prone to mold.

Most of the health problems associated with exposure to fiberglass insulation are short-term in nature. You may suffer from minor and temporary skin or eye irritation if you come into contact with it, and you may experience some sneezing, coughing, or breathing issues if you inhale fiberglass. Those with asthma and allergies may suffer more and longer. Though fiberglass was once a suspected carcinogen, there’s now no good evidence that exposure to fiberglass can cause lung cancer.

It depends on the type of AC unit and the extent of the mold growth. For example, if you have a small amount of mold in your central air conditioner, it’s worth cleaning it to protect your HVAC system and your health. In situations like these, you can often remove the mold yourself in a couple of hours. On the other hand, if you have a portable AC unit with a severe mold problem, it makes more sense to buy a new one. On average, replacing a portable AC unit costs $100 to $500.

Slime mold can thrive for weeks or months in the perfect environment, but that rarely occurs. The mold will typically die within a week of you noticing it. However, it could be dead long before it disappears, and since it’s safe to handle, it’s easier to get rid of it all at once. This eliminates its chance to spread, and also won’t leave you looking at decaying slime mold.

It is safe to remove old linoleum, but it may require the help of a specialist due to the risk of asbestos in the material. Before you cut into linoleum or try to peel it up, have it tested for asbestos. If it tests positive, professionals will need to remove it to prevent the risk of health issues from airborne toxic particles. If it’s asbestos-free, DIY removal is possible and safe.
