"They have taken care of all warranty issues. They need to plan for the busy season so they can accommodate their customers because they once told me there was a wait time of one month but it was resolved."

"They did an excellent job. The only issue was that after starting to chip away at the old plaster, they called me and told me that my pool had been replastered before. Therefore it had 2 layers of old plaster. That meant more work to chip it all the way down to the gunite. That would cost $1,500 more! I had chosen PPP because of their low bid and good reviews on Angie's List. I was very upset. Jorge said that he could replaster without stripping down to the the gunite. I told him that other companies specified in their estimate and quot;strip down to the guniteand quot;. He agreed to drop the surcharge to $1,200.
Notwithstanding this, PPP were still cheaper and did a superb job.
My recommendation to others is to make the contractor be very specific as to his assumptions and state what are the incremental costs if these assumptions turn out to be incorrect.Jorge is a very pleasant man who is a pleasure to deal with.

"Bill and his 2 assistants did an excellent job.  I was impressed with their prep before starting the job.  They covered, and taped everything down before starting the job.  I can tell they were professional by the way the handle their tools, cleaned up everything, and timely.

"It went well. Green NRG was easy to work with, their employees are very responsive and friendly! It took no time at all to schedule the work, and my new roof and panels were both installed very quickly!"

"I hired Tim and his helpers to move my furniture from my house into a POD and then a couple of weeks back into my house. Before the first move Tim call and gave me a lot of tips on what I would need and how to prep for the moves. He was very conscientious with my belongings which I greatly appreciated. He is quite loquacious which made the experience fun. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

"I called to receive an estimate for repairing or replacing our solar pool heating system. The Horizon sales rep came out, climbed on the roof, and told me that it would be better to repair the leaking coils than to replace it. Since Horizon doesn't repair the coil system that I have, I was given a referral. While he was at our home, I inquired about photovoltaic systems that they can install, got a quick estimate and understanding of tax credits and return-on-investment. With all of the current tax credits, state and federal, it seems to make sense to install solar electrical systems now. I promised that I'd be calling back as soon as my home has equity in it again."

"I never give a 100% review to any company because nothing and no one is ever perfect but in this case I would go so far as to give 97%. The end result was great and they made my pool look brand new. 100% kudos to the worker who gingerly cut away from the tiles I wanted to keep. His attention to detail was amazing and he did most of it on his belly, on the hottest day of the summer. In hindsight I feel guilty and should have just gutted the entire thing and chosen new tile. I apologize to them for my fool hearty choice. That said it was a job beautifully done. I decided to add a safety handle by the steps into the pool, since our friends are getting older and need something to hold onto while entering and exiting the pool. Completion of this took longer than hoped for, presumably due to unavailability, but once received and installed it was done well. The team worked well together and I think they did a reasonable job with daily clean up. Other than the safety bar installation, the job was completed in a timely fashion and the project manager, James, was a good and timely communicator, something very important in my opinion. We waited too long to address this resurfacing job and considering that we didn’t commit until late in the pool season, mid summer, we were pleased that the job was done relatively fast so we still got some swim time in. Looking forward to summer 2025 to reap the reward of the teams hard work. I would not hesitate to hire James and his team again. If you hire them I hope you have the same good experience."

"Everything went extremely well with one small exception. When I got home the day they installed the actual surface of the pool and the pool was being filled with water, I saw that the color was very wrong. I turned off the water and contacted the office immediately. They were very apologetic and came out the next day to tear out the wrong surface and install the new one. I think they handled the mistake very well and quickly so I do highly recommend them nevertheless.

"My wife and I have a 2800sf home with the intent of a complete, custom remodel. Because we were planning on spending over $100,000 on the job, we spoke with many contractors and decided to go with Leroy from Royalty builders for the project. The result was incredible. Leroy went above and beyond what we expected and delivered an unbelievable result for us. Nearly every surface in the house was touched: new open-concept kitchen, 2 remodeled bathrooms (including over 150sf of 1 inch glass tile in the master shower), flooring everywhere (natural wood, marble, travertine), trim throughout, custom built kitchen, bath, and office cabinets, custom built stone fireplace, new texture and paint, windows, French doors, 2 hot water heaters on recirculating pump, 2 electrical panels, etc. We were happy with each trade that Leroy brought on to help - wood floor guys, tile, trim, painters, granite, electrician, plumber, mason, etc. He was also hands on, completing much of the loose ends work himself. I don't have enough positive things to say about Leroy and all the team from Royalty Builders. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering a high-end remodel."

Install Above Ground Pools questions, answered by experts

Installing a pool chiller can give you more control over the temperature of your pool, especially if you live in a climate with hot summers. Just a few degrees of cooling can make your swim feel more refreshing and allow you to use fewer pool chemicals by slowing down the growth of algae. You might not need a pool chiller if you live in a climate in which temperatures tend to dip at night.

The total time to install an inground pool typically ranges from 8 weeks to 4 months. This timeline can be influenced by several factors, including permitting, site preparation, and the construction process itself.

Key phases and their typical durations include:

  • Permits: Obtaining necessary permits can take anywhere from two to six weeks.

  • Excavation and Site Preparation: This phase takes about a week but can be extended by problematic soil, unexpected ground conditions, or the need to move underground utility lines.

  • Construction: The actual build, including plumbing and electrical work, often takes one to two months. The pool material is a major factor here; a concrete pool needs about 30 days to cure, while installing a fiberglass or vinyl liner is much faster.

External factors can also cause significant delays:

  • Contractor Availability: Spring and summer are busy seasons, and high demand can lead to long waitlists, potentially adding months to your start date. It is often recommended to start planning and getting estimates up to a year in advance.

  • Other Delays: Weather, material shortages, complex designs, and other unforeseen challenges can extend the project timeline.

The best time to schedule an annual pool inspection is early or late spring, before the busy summer season. Your inspector can identify urgent issues so you can address them before using the pool. If your region is warm year-round, schedule an inspection before you start swimming regularly.

Your contractor will need several days to several weeks as far as a timeline to install your semi-inground pool goes. Adapting an aboveground pool to be semi-inground by excavating and partially burying the liner, for example, will only take three to five days, while installing an in-ground pool with a poured concrete liner and building up the land around it will require several weeks. Keep in mind that the process of hiring a pool contractor and applying for permits can add several additional weeks to the total timeline.

No, you shouldn’t be able to taste the salt at all since saltwater pools only contain about 10% of the salt you’d find in ocean water. Saltwater pools do create some chlorine, though, so you should still try not to drink the water.
