I had the pleasure of working with Unicorn Structures and their engineer, Devendra Deshwal, on creating a new house plan that seamlessly integrated with the existing structure. Devendra was awesome to work with. He was patient, very detailed and flexible, helped us select the right construction partner, and quickly addressed small problems that arose during the project. Quality of work was excellent! I would highly recommend him!

Building inspectors were very complimentary about the design by Devendra. Devendra continued to provide support as needed by us, even after completion of the project design, as contractors encountered issues that entailed modifications because of unforseen complications. He has been very supportive throughout the entire job. I would use Devendra for future projects, and would not hesitate to recommend him.

Devendra Deshwal helped us design and engineer landscaping with retaining walls and other structures in our front and backyards. He was very professional, patient and accommodating, and worked diligently with the City of Belmont to attain all permits and approvals. Even with changing requirements from the city, he was responsive and came back several times with updated designs and plans that met the new requirements and specs. Belmont is really particular about drainage, and Devendra worked closely with the city to get all the details needed to ensure that our plans met with City requirements. He followed-through until we completed final inspections and approvals of all the work done. We appreciate all the help he has provided to get our front and backyards landscaped to our requirements, and would recommend him highly to others who require the services of a civil/structural engineer.

Devendra is amazing, he is so professional, very smart, and super detail-oriented. He is a very nice man as well and a pleasure to have worked with. I was planning a full renovation on my small home, and I needed to remove two walls. I hired him to draw the blueprints of my home and to find out if I could remove these walls in question if they were load-bearing walls or not. This is my first renovation, and I am doing this on my own, so I was a bit scared. Devendra has been there for me when I needed him, I feel very blessed to have him in my corner. Thankfully, I did not need to add beams, and everything has worked out well. He also handled all the submissions with the city. I highly recommend Devendra!! If I could give him 10 stars I would. :)

Devendra was excellent. He was very professional and quick with his response to questions we had for our deck/pool project. He saved us over 10k from making sure we could crane a pool into the space. Had that question not been asked we would have had a pool without the ability to hoist it, because the electrical grid would have needed to be turned off. We opted not to do the pool, but continue with the multiple deck project. Would highly recommend Devendra.

Devendra was very responsive and helpful in our project. He came to our project site twice to make sure the layout and designs were correct. He also connected us with a soil engineer who conducted the due diligence for soil testing. Lastly, when we decided to scrape the project (due to reasons that had nothing to do with Devendra) he only took 50% of the fees instead of what we had agreed in the contract. I would work with him again and also recommend him.

We hired Mr Deshwal for a full house remodel and extension. This was a big project with lots of structural changes involved in it.  He heard our requirements and provided us with clear solutions to our needs. We submitted the plans to the City of Santa Clara and they were approved promptly without any issue. There were some more challenges during the construction phase and Mr Deshwal was quick to respond in resolving them. Overall we felt that Mr Deshwal heard and understood our requirements well and converted those ideas into reality. He is very knowledgeable and provides innovative solutions to tough problems. We were very happy with his services and would love to work with him in the future.

Devendra was responsive and super helpful through the entire process! He handled plan submissions with the city and did a great job answering all of our questions.

Devendra is very professional, responsive, calm and knowledgeable. Our project is big and we had to do many changes in the house. Devendra completely understood our requirements and came up with all the needed plans like structural, plumbing, electrical, etc in a very quick turn around. He maintained a very good communication with me and my contractor while the project is ongoing. He did a very good co-ordination with the Fremont city building approval team and able to get the permit approved on time. He even took care of a special requirement that came up in our case that mandated a special inspection on removing the load bearing wall. It was a pleasure working with Devendra and I would highly recommend him as an architect for any home building/remodeling projects.

It has been great experience working with Devendra and team! I had to hire him on middle of my project because previous design submitted was not approved. Not only he took someone else work, he understood the magnitude of issue which was to obtain building permit and guided us through out the process. City approved their design and documents on first attempt whole saved us lots of time and money because we had been waiting month and paying mortgage at the house which was inhabitable. He also visited site again to make sure that everything was done property and nothing was missed. What actually we loved most about Devendra and company is that he assured us from the beginning not to worry and he will fix all open issues and secure us permit. His experience and calm nature definitely play huge part on it

We worked with Mr. Deshwal for our home project which involved remodeling as well as adding an addition to the home. In spite of the size of the project, he finished the plans well within time, and did a great job. The permit was issued by the city of San Jose in the very first submission, without any back and forth. Once the project started, we encountered some additional complexities in the home structure. Mr. Deshwal responded promptly and helped us solve these issues, without adding any delay to the project. We had an excellent experience working with Mr. Deshwal and highly recommend him.

Davendra is an impressive individual by resume and a real pleasure to work with. He is very professional and knowledgeable, but also did very detailed and complete work which resulted in a permit without changes. He did this promptly for a reasonable price. I would certainly hire him again if I needed a structural engineer.

Mr. Deshwal helped us with the architecture and structural engineering in our home remodel project. He helped us with the permit process and getting our designs iterated and approved with the City of Sunnyvale on time. He also helped with an addition of the master suite. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. We had several changes in our requirements along the way, and Mr. Deshwal was very flexible and supportive. Devendra is very professional and highly knowledge. I am very happy that I hired him during the design phase. He was quickly able to provide suggestions on items which architects often overlook. By incorporating his suggestions we are able to save some cost.

We found Devendra from HomeAdvisor for Structural Engineering work for our new construction project. After talking to Devendra we found him to be quite knowledgeable in his work, offered good suggestions and pricing for work was also quite reasonable. He studied in one of the best Engineering Schools in India for Civil Engineering. For the structural work Devendra came up with excellent suggestions for a specific type of truss and he went out of his way to get all relevant details related to it for implementation in the structural design. He worked with our Architect seamlessly. We were able to secure City permits for structural design in a timely manner. He is very knowledgeable, performs his work in a very professional manner, finishes tasks promptly, easily reachable and is always willing to help. We highly recommend Devendra for Structural Engineering work.

I found Devendra on HomeAdvisor when I was remodeling my home last year. I need a structural engineer for windows opening, resizing bathrooms, and bedrooms. The structural planning reports are needed for obtaining city permits and the later remodeling work.
