We hired Lavu Concrete to expand our driveway so we could get our cars off a busy, narrow street, and a concrete sidewalk to my side yard. The crew showed up early and worked very hard. After I saw the workmanship of a planter his brother installed, I asked him to do a flagstone path through my yard. Sam quoted me a price, and his word is gold. Right before the concrete pour, the lateral sewer line was blocked, because of tree roots. Not anything they did. We had to replace the lateral which is buried 3-5 feet below ground. Everyone said we were lucky it happened before the pour. Thank God! Through all the postponement with the concrete company because of the plumbersâ schedule and weather, owner Sam kept his cool . He and his brother made the driveway and paths beautiful. Wish he did other kind of work or wish I had more work for his company. His price is fair. Heâ s knowledgeable, brother and worker were hardworking. Local business and large enough to work out any problems that might come up along the way like redoing the planter after the plumber came to install the new cleanout.

I hired Sam and team to work on the sidewall of my home which was made of concrete due to leakage into the home. It wasn't a lot, but it was enough that it needed to be fixed. The leak happens when it rains. Initially when I had Sam come by the home, he immediately took a look and noticed that the leak was happening because of the "alleyway" concrete (an area between my home and my neighbors) was sloped towards my home. He recommended we re-slope that section of the concrete and fix the concrete in front of the house as well the block of concrete was cracked and also there was an entrypoint for water to come into the home. Overall good experience and I appreciate the locally owned business and the fact that he's had over 30+ years of experience. He knows what he's good at and that's what he focuses on versus trying to do too much. The work was done fast and efficient. We're expecting a big rainfall the next 3-4 days so I'll be able to see if the work he did fixed the issue.

Sam and crew were on time, efficient, answered all questions, completed the floor in a timely manner. They cleaned up afterward. They even patched a hole in a retaining wall next to floor install. The price was very fair. I would hire this contractor again!

I had Lavu replace concrete and rebar in my garage that had really fallen apart. Lavu was responsive, flexible with my schedule, and did great work. They also priced the project fairly where some of the others tried to gouge and negotiate with laughable quotes up front. I'd certainly pick them again for upcoming projects.

They did a fairly good job for a very reasonable price

Unlike the other two contractors I interviewed, Sam actually suggested doing a number of things that others were reluctant to do and for a much more reasonable estimate. He was courteous, prompt, and maintained steady text-message contact throughout the job.

They did a beautiful Job on the driveway and backyard walkway. I appreciated Sam contacting me every step of the way. The crew was prompt, courteous and professional. The only recommendation I have is to make sure and cover any exposed (public) sidewalk during work- it got a bit stained, and we might have to get it power washed so it looks clean.

Sam was first on the scene when I was looking for bids to renew a long concrete pathway down the side of my house. At all times Sam was in communication with me and work started within a week of me accepting his bid. Everything step was done exactly as promised and finished on time. His team and trucks were there as promised, the work carried out a clean up done. Sam really knows about concrete and I would recommend him to anyone wanting a good job done. Thank you Sam.

Our city, to my surprise, advised me that it was required to replace a sinking portion of the public sidewalk in front of my home. In the past, we advised the city of any hazard involving this public sidewalk, the city would repair as needed. Ok. I contacted HomeAdvisor, Inc. as I remember seeing an ad on TV about this referral service. The company HomeAdvisor referred me to be absolutely perfect. The company name was “LAVU CONCRETE”. THEY TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR WORK.

Decent concrete work. Do not let them color or stain your concrete.

I would like to thank Sam and his fellow worker's for the excellent job they done on my Pacifica home Driveway and walkways and retaining walls. it was a big job the house is on the side of a hill so it needed retaining walls on both side's of the drive way and walkways to the front door and around back. they set up one week and were done the next week. Job clean up was great. I must ad that I had made the mistake of hiring Northern California Concrete who was listed on home advisory 5 stars. they took my money and didn't do the job be careful ! Lavu Concrete is a Family Business , Sam was very easy too work with no pressure for money up front. I wish I would have had him in the 1st place. I hired Lavu Concrete to build concrete steps and concrete planter boxes in front of our home. Sam and his team did an amazing job from beginning to end: 1) Sam shared great ideas for how we should design the steps and the planter boxes. We live on a hill with a steep slope - so his expert advice was important. 2) They were very responsive and gave us a clear and well-priced estimate for the work. 3) The finished work was excellent and showed a high level of experience. They also left the work site very clean. The Lavu team are very professional and I'm so glad we hired them.

Outstanding communication

Lavu was very professional, always present to oversee the project, and was very flexible in making adjustments as desired/needed. I was very pleased in every way with his work.

Really nice family that does great work - only took 4 days to: rip up old redwood deck, take out grass, lay out forms and rebar, pour, stamp and color our new concrete patio. Lavu is a renaissance man, having been a high-school art teacher. He actually appreciated the somewhat crazy, rounded edges I wanted for the patio and walkway, and he was very thoughtful in inlaying a couple of items I wanted to honor my mom and dad.

Lavu Concrete is a family business, the work they just completed, driveway, walk and front entry was outstanding. They came early and left late and completed the job in a timely fashion. One day for breakup, one for framing, one to pour and finish and one to set a brick ribbon around and across the driveway and walk. They are very professional in what I had then do. Price was right too. I highly recommend them if it's concrete work you need done.
