Other plumbers were consulted on the repair, and each one of them proposed a repair that was much more expensive - replacement of the whole segment of pipe to the next fitting. However, Albano's proposed a repair that included removal of the damaged pipe, rethreading at the point where the pipe was cut, and then pipe replacement using the newly threaded end. The repair was tested and accepted by the gas company.
