"Yes, yes, all kinds of yes. Luth is the man. Arrived on time with a smile (and was adorable), gave me a 20 min courtesy call, no upselling and no hidden fees, and most importantly he got out set-in stains that Stanley Steemer never even touched! He's still currently cleaning but I'm so impressed that I had to hop on here and heap praise. Impressive work for a great price. I almost chose another company. So grateful to all of the reviewers before me for changing my mind.

"Workers were efficient, clean, and pleasant. They described their work and then did it. The following work was performed: 1.Remove registers , clean and sanitize. 2.Clean out duct with Rotobrush to remove loose dust, fluff, particles, etc. 3.Wipe down the inside walls of the vent area with warm water and disinfectant mix."

"It took a couple days longer than originally planned because of additional problems being uncovered but they were all handled beautifully. I am very excited about my new bathroom."

"Mark met me at a consignment store in Palm Springs to look at a table I was considering buying. The edges were coming apart from the center of the table and I wanted to be sure it could be repaired before I bought it. Mark said he could fix it and loaded it in his van. We agreed on a price of $425 including delivery. He had the table for a couple weeks and called and told us he was still working on it, getting the scratches out and mentioned that gluing it was difficult because of the modern angles but he figured it out. He also said he took care of the 2 chips. We were excited when he brought the table and we saw what looked like a brand new, super glossy modern table. He did beautiful work. Our only complaint was that he requested an additional $150 for labor and that was not agreed on up front. We paid the extra because he did do an excellent job but would have appreciated a "heads up". All in all we would recommend Museum Quality Furniture. We are very satisfied.

"Meathead Movers were excellent. The crew on the first day was Adam, DJ, Jeremy, Andrew, and Edrio, and for the second day it was Adam and Andrew. The first part of the move consisted of two parts- emptying and packing onto the truck, the contents of my 10x10 storage unit, and then going to the residence, which I was vacating and moving  the remainder of my belongings. Although my family and I had moved many of our items to the garage ( to make the move easier), the movers had to still move many items from the first and second floors ( and the first floor was already 20 steps above the street level) and did so without any complaints or hesitations. The movers were detailed, professional, STRONG, and wonderful to work with. One the second day, Adam and Andrew, from day 1, moved me into my new residence. They were again prompt, professional, and the best workers I have ever encountered ( both days they were the best!). I have moved before and was thrilled to find that there were no hidden fees to worry about, nor did I have to worry that my belongings were going to be held "hostage" for more money ( the one thing most people complain about when they move). I thought Meathead Movers were the BEST, and will definitely use them the next time I have to move.

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Paper moving pads, also called furniture wrapping paper or paper moving blankets, are sheets of recycled paper used to protect various items during moving. Similar to traditional moving blankets, paper pads are also reusable, making them a sustainable and cost-effective option for protecting your belongings during the moving process. Although they’re recycled, they still provide excellent protection against dust, dirt, and scratches.

DIY upholstery is feasible for simple pieces with the right tools and skills, though intricate jobs typically require professional expertise for the best results.

As with any project, weighing the pros and cons of upholstery can help determine if that is the right choice for you. The ultimate question is whether it’s worth reupholstering instead of buying new furniture. Here are a few of the benefits and disadvantages of reupholstering a piece of furniture.

Pros:

  • Preserving a family heirloom

  • Maintaining high-quality furniture in good condition

  • Reinventing an old piece of furniture

  • Keeping a piece of furniture from going to a landfill

Cons:

  • Spending (possibly) more than to buy a new piece of furniture

  • Finding out the frame is beyond repair

  • Waiting for the reupholstery work to be done

Part of the beauty of academia decor is that most textures and materials will feel right at home, provided they’re dark. Some common textures include natural wood, dark metals like iron, velvet, and leather. Incorporating these into your dark academia decor will make them look right at home. Glass is another option in some cases, so fill in gaps in your decor with small glass jars, or really lean on the gothic roots of dark academia with stained glass.

Consider durability, color, texture, room use, and personal style when selecting fabric. Fabrics like linen, cotton, or microfiber offer versatility and strength.
