"I asked for a quote online and Mike made contact within 15 minutes. My quote for cleaning 2 wing back chairs (last effort before taking them in to be upholstered) was given and appointment set just as quickly. Technician came out, right on time and performed a miracle by transforming the well loved chairs to new looking! Mike says he has been in business for years. It shows with his knowledge and quality of work. I will be a customer for life. Thanks again!"

Now, our bathroom feels like a spa every time we step in. I appreciate the quality and attention to detail. These folks definitely know what they?re doing!"

"The quality of the painting was good. But the job was finished a bit later than promised and the painters didn’t clean up the grounds completely after they were done."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

It is possible to reupholster directly over old material in some cases, and it can save you a bit of money. If you are going to go this route, make sure you use a darker color than you had previously. Otherwise, you might see the old fabric beneath the new material. You should also keep in mind that reupholstering over old material is only possible with certain materials. For example, reupholstering over leather usually isn’t possible. You can ask your professional to see if this is an option for your piece.

Interior and exterior door openings are typically 80 inches high, with openings 29¼ inches wide for interior doors and 35 inches wide for exterior doors. If your couch is smaller than these measurements, it should fit through the door frame.

When hiring an upholsterer, look for a pro with experience in your chair type, positive reviews, and a portfolio of completed projects. Ask about their process, timeline, warranty, and whether they are insured. Getting multiple quotes from reupholsterers in your area and checking their references can help ensure quality and fair pricing.

Paper moving pads, also called furniture wrapping paper or paper moving blankets, are sheets of recycled paper used to protect various items during moving. Similar to traditional moving blankets, paper pads are also reusable, making them a sustainable and cost-effective option for protecting your belongings during the moving process. Although they’re recycled, they still provide excellent protection against dust, dirt, and scratches.

To safeguard your furniture and upholstered items, it's best to use plastic wrap or specially-made plastic sofa covers. However, you should avoid wrapping wooden furniture in plastic if you plan on storing it, as plastic can trap moisture and warp the wood, plus it may damage certain finishes. In either case, old blankets or moving blankets make excellent alternatives. For protecting delicate glass table tops and mirrors, bubble wrap is always a reliable choice.
