"It took 3 hours to get an estimate. The salesman kept pressing for information about how much money I could put as a down payment. I only got an estimate after I threatened to leave. The total cost was very high. The person who called to schedule the salesman appointment was very pushy about windows and siding. About a week after my conversation with the salesman, a person called from DaBella and asked for a review of my experience. I finally hung up in exasperation. I have had other estimates from roofers who were able to be simple and direct. Price was a secondary factor in rejecting the company. I value simple, honest, direct people who are interested in getting me what I need and don't push."

"On a home built in 1957 Approved Contractor Inc (ACI) installed new construction windows and sliding glass doors, stripped the house of old siding, removed old plywood sheathing and old insulation, and then insulated and stuccoed the house. What was important was not only finding a reputable construction company, but also one that would coordinate the total project. The added benefits were quality work and high-end material, at a competitive price. Of note, was the stucco method (4 layers-coats - scratch, brown, finish and texture). The texture coat is an elastomeric paint (color of my choosing) that is water repellent, reflective and provides an even color on the walls - with a lifetime warranty. Other stucco contractors stop on the finish coat, with the color in stucco. In addition ACI uses its own subcontractors. ACI was professional, flexible, and did really great work. ACI was a superb choice."

We really appreciated his candor as to what we were looking at to get our stucco repaired, new windows installed, new siding on an addition, trim painting and lighting replaced. "We started researching last summer how much it would cost and what it would entail to have our asbestos siding removed to prepare for our foundation to be repaired. We got three different bids, and San Diego Painting was right in the middle of the bids as far as cost was concerned and Al Canales, the estimator, struck me as being very concise about the job and I liked his attitude. We did not have the work done until March, but Al was very patient and understanding as to our anxiety about the job, since this is our first home and our first attempt at major repair. The forman for the job, Victor, was very professional and careful when removing the siding so that we could preserve the old wooden shingles underneath......which was a critical part of the job. They did a great job and we were happy with the job done."
