Customers say: Super punctual

"I hired the company to perform a regular cleaning and inspection. They found that there was a problem with the chimney where i connected to the roof. In addition, the current design was not up to code and gas piping corroded so they brought the entire chimney unit up to code. It was a bit more than I planned, but I can have a fire in comfort."

"Installation was quick and easy, just as promised. I even had an RV parked next to the area being worked on. Very pleased with the look of the pavers and edging blocks."

Customers say: Quality work

"Categories above don't exactly reflect the work we had done. Install It Direct removed our wood retaining wall and replaced with stone-look block (about 260 feet in length). They also installed artificial turf in our front yard, which greatly improved our curb appeal. Chris and Troy supervised these installations and their workers did an excellent job. We were very pleased with their work and it turned out great!"

"Grady came out and gave an estimate. It was a very easy process, no hard sale. After receiving several estimates, we went with Omega because of Grady's good communication and responsiveness and the quality of turf Omega uses. I met with Chris and Grady the Friday before the project started and felt comfortable with all of the steps in the process. The project took four days and we are very happy with the finished product."

Customers say: Quick response

"I Just had Noe and his crew install a concrete patio with walkway and stairs around my house in Escondido. They laid rebar and finished the concrete forms I had started and did an excellent job. He was very responsive to my ideas and even was able to make some last minute changes to the set up I asked for. When the cement truck came, his team worked fast and clean, and our vision became a reality. For quality, communication, professionalism, attention to detail, and all for the best price,(I got 8 bids to compare) I highly recommend Noe and his team."

"Overall I was very happy with the service, quality, professionalism, and communication. The quote was straightforward no nonsense. I was going to buy my own pavers and try to find someone to install but Emily informed me that they were wrong for my driveway.. she was very informative. I was floored that the entire project was done in 4 days! That includes demo and installation. Highly recommend this company!"

"Victor was the most professional company that came to give me a bid. He was the only one who gave me a detailed written estimate. He took the time to completely ck my sprinklers made sure of what exactly needed to be repaired or replaced. Planted new flowers, plants & transplanted for me. All new soil where needed. The price was good. I would have been disappointed with any other company. He's charged me a good price for my monthly service. I will only hire him to do the back 1/2 acre. I highly recommend his service."

"Kent not only provided us a solution, but also restored our sanctuary. He readily took on a remediation project to restore flagstone in our patio area affected by a re-routed buried gas line. Where we were already overwhelmed with the complexity of the task (and the distress from the gas line leak), Kent reassured us that he would take care of everything. His extensive experience, coupled with his genuine passion to restore our space, was compelling. The attention-to-detail was seen from Kent down through each of his team members. Not only was it difficult to match the existing flagstone, but his team laid it in a way that blended naturally with the remaining patio. Each step seemed to have been done with the same care they would do for their own home—from the initial dig to expertly puzzling together the flagstone, it was flawless execution. Also, with their expertise with barbecues, they were able to also trouble shoot our side burners & gas fire pit. Kent is a professional; and his Zen-presence radiated beyond the project, and exceeded our expectations. To him, this may have been a simple job to restore our patio; but to us, he helped us to regain resilience from this whole ordeal. We are loyal to his work and his passion; and would feel privileged to work with him again on another project. With whole-hearted gratitude, J & I (Carmel Valley)"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Smoke detectors come in two different options: hardwired or battery-operated. While hardwired units are attached directly to the home’s electrical system, a battery-operated smoke detector only needs a simple battery for operation and can be placed virtually anywhere in your home. Some homeowners may mistakenly think their battery-operated units are hardwired in because all their units are interconnected, but many battery-operated units can operate within a smoke alarm network in your home.

Yes, fire extinguishers eventually expire. However, the good news is that a properly stored fire extinguisher can last a decade or longer. They don’t have an expiration date on the canister, but you can check the manufacturing date on the “UL” nameplate near the classification information. Maintenance will also give your fire extinguisher longevity. Check the gauge at the top of the extinguisher every month. You'll want to make sure the gauge needle is in the green section, and if a hose or nozzle has been used or damaged, you need to replace it.

Yes, a hot or overheating outlet is a fire hazard and can cause a fire. An outlet becoming hot indicates an electrical problem, such as an overloaded circuit, loose connections, or a faulty component. The heat from these issues can ignite nearby flammable materials like curtains or furniture. If you notice an outlet is hot to the touch, turn off the power at the circuit breaker, unplug any connected devices, and consult a qualified electrician. If a fire does start, use a Class C fire extinguisher or baking soda to suppress it, or evacuate immediately and call the fire department.

Yes, a faulty or broken light switch can be a serious fire hazard. Malfunctioning switches often result from loose wiring, exposed connections, or other electrical problems that can cause overheating or sparking. Warning signs include crackling, popping, or hissing sounds when you flip the switch, which indicates live electricity that could ignite nearby flammable materials. If you suspect your light switch is faulty, immediately turn off the power at the circuit breaker and contact a qualified electrician to remedy the issue.

According to the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA), the leading cause of house fires is cooking accidents, followed by fires started by heating equipment. Electrical issues are the third most common cause of house fires. The best way to keep your home protected is to use caution when cooking and never leave a stove or oven unattended while in use. You can also keep up with chimney cleaning and avoid using space heaters to reduce the risk.
