"The caulking around my bath tub was extremely unattractive. It was peeling and very thick. I have attached a picture before and after the work was done. I’m extremely pleased with the work and time frame it was finished. Very respectful handyman. I would definitely recommend him. You will be pleased."

"A friend recommended Edgar and his crew after I saw what a good job they did remodeling my friends two bathrooms. We only use Edgar now for all our home projects. He has remodeled two of our bathrooms, installed vinyl flooring, canned lights, ceiling fans, stair balusters, he's done plumbing for us, he's done fascia painting, he pretty much does it all. His work is top-notch. His pricing is very fair. He and crew are always on time finishing the project but also showing up in the morning. He's responsive the phone calls and texts. Highly highly recommended. I tell everyone to use Edgar and crew for any of their home repairs or upgrades."

"I had a window that was leaking and did not know who to go to for fixing this issue. I found Level Up Contracting through Angi's list. They came and surveyed the problem area. The problem lied behind the drywall and Al told me what work was needed to investigate the issue and repair it. He walked me through the process and quoted me a fair cost for the job. Throughout the repair work he provided updates and what materials he needed to completed the work. Al provided excellent customer service and was very pleasant to talk to. I am very satisfied with his work and craftmanship."

"I can't say enough good things about the painting service we received from Julian (San Diego Premier handyman). From the initial estimate to the final walk-through, communication was excellent. He painted several areas around the house and his eye for detail and steady hand really made a huge difference. He was punctual, respectful of our property, and kept everything tidy. Highly recommend for anyone looking to refresh their home!""

"Jose Lopez and his team were fantastic to work with. They helped me troubleshoot an old ceiling fan that had been giving me issues, removed it, and installed a brand new one quickly and professionally. They also helped re-caulk the bathroom tub while they were here, which I really appreciated. Jose was extremely communicative, friendly, and honest throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain what was going on, didn’t try to upsell anything unnecessary, and made sure everything was done properly before leaving. It’s hard to find reliable and trustworthy help these days, and Jose is definitely someone I would call again. Highly recommend him and his team if you’re looking for quality work and great service."

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

Prioritize tasks and arrange a consultation to discuss scope and timeline with the handyman.

A contractor specializes in a specific field. They often operate in teams where they have subcontractors to handle specialized problems. So if you have significant plumbing, drywall, or roofing issues, you’ll want to hire a contractor, as the job may require a team.

A handyperson is typically one person who works on whatever jobs come their way. You wouldn’t call a contractor to fix the hinges on cabinets or paint your room. Instead, a handyperson can handle all these issues, saving you from making multiple phone calls.

To install or move washer and dryer hookups, you will likely need a combination of professionals. A plumber can handle the water supply lines and drain pipes. If you have a gas dryer, a plumber certified for gas lines or an HVAC specialist will be needed to run the gas line. An electrician is required to install the correct electrical outlets. For simpler jobs, a local handyperson may suffice, while a contractor might be needed for tasks like drywall repair for the new vents.

In most states, handypeople do not need to be licensed to perform simple home repair tasks and smaller jobs. When projects exceed specific cost amounts, however, ranging from $500 in California to $50,000 in other states, some municipalities consider them to be contractors, meaning they need to be licensed. To learn if your handyperson should be licensed to work on your job, contact your local governing body or state contractors’ licensing board before starting any work.

While a handyperson will do the odd small job for your home, a maintenance person is responsible for conducting regular inspections and repairs. Maintenance people may come in to do small fixes and diagnose any issues you might be facing, but may not have all the same technical abilities as a handyperson.
