I Frame Custom Homes and Grow Lemons. I have been growing lemons and managing my family's citrus ranch and equestrian facility since 1998. I graduated Fresno State Fall 2015 with a B.S. in Plant Science, Crop Production and B.S. in Construction Management. I don't watch very much TV and I have never owned a Game Station. I would much rather help you complete your project. No project to small and ill build as big as you would like.

Give us a call for a free estimate. History Successful work in the building trades is what has come to define the McGraw legacy. Beginning in 1970 with McGraw Roofing, Julian McGraw charted a path that has produced several family-owned companies over several generations. Fast forward 40 years and we have the formation of McGraw Construction, incorporated in 2012. Founded by Julian's grandson, McGraw Construction specializes in Commercial and Residential remodeling as a licensed Contractor with C-8 Concrete and C-27 Landscaping specialties. McGraw Construction offers a variety of Remodeling, Additions, Concrete, Masonry, Fencing, Outdoor Living, and Landscaping projects to suit all levels and needs. Meet the Business Owner The succession of McGraw family-owned companies began in the early seventies. As a young boy growing up in the 80s, helping my grandfather Julian at his company McGraw Roofing, I received valuable lessons in hard labor; and from those early experiences I discovered a passion for building and using tools. The inspiration from my younger years led to a career in carpentry, and in 2005 I joined the Carpenters' Union completing a four-year apprenticeship program. Soon after becoming a Journeymen Carpenter in 2009, we faced the devastating housing-market crash. Work was scarce, to say the least, but I applied for a scholarship with Modesto Tech College in Building Mechanic Maintenance. I was accepted and graduated in 2010 earning HVAC, Welding, and Electrical certifications. From these humble beginnings, I proudly represent a legacy of quality craftsmanship that is cornerstone to the success of McGraw Construction, Inc.

Garages questions, answered by experts

Yes. Paint will protect your garage floors, making them more resistant to water, mold, mildew, and oil stains. Depending on your paint choice, painted surfaces are easier to clean and maintain.

Having a garage installed certainly adds to the value of your home. The consideration is not whether it adds value, but for many, they want to know if adding a garage yields a return on their investment or ROI. While garages can add anywhere from 5% to 20% of the total value of your property, that doesn’t mean that they return 5% to 20% of the money invested in building them. Most homeowners build garages for a purpose but know that you can recover your investment when you sell or refinance.

While the benefits of garage door screens usually outweigh the downsides, there are some cons to installing one. First off, they can be quite expensive, especially if you’re having a professional install a retracting screen or a custom size screen. Second, they let fresh air and natural light in, but they also don’t provide the same privacy from people in the neighborhood that a solid door does. As you might guess, screens also won’t insulate your garage, so they’re often not usable in colder weather.

A prefab, or prefabricated garage, requires far less construction work than one with a foundation and frame, but it’s not nearly as desirable and may not be a worthwhile option. A prefabricated garage won’t be as durable or long-lasting, and it doesn’t provide the same protection for your belongings and vehicles. Plus, you can use a standard garage for more uses—like living space—whereas a prefab garage only serves as a space for storage. Lastly, building a traditional garage will add to your home value, while a prefab garage usually won’t.

If you have a gap under your garage door, it may be caused by an uneven garage floor. Repairing the concrete under the floor may level out the surface enough to fix gaps. You can also replace the garage door weather stripping or adjust the closing position of the door to see if that remedies your issue. Otherwise, call a garage door repair specialist to inspect the door.
