"Sal and his crew provided excellent service. He shows a particular concern for the overall health of the tree, and uses his skill as a certified Arborist to assess where the tree is in its life cycle, what particular stresses or diseases it may be presently subject to, and recommends a course of action which is best for the tree's continued health and survival. He also pays particular care to any wildlife which might be nesting in the tree at the time.
I would recommend Sal's company (S & H Tree Service) to anyone and everyone. I will call no other man for the job, and intend to use him exclusively from now on.

"Great find. I hired Fil and Green Care to trim two queen palms that make a mess every September. The price was what it should be from past experience, and I'd had two bids far higher. When they arrived, they declined as the trees were diseased and dangerous. He explained the problem, and the risk, and encouraged me to shop around after giving me a price. His were low moderate for these very tall trees, according to three pricing websites for average cost. I'm glad I hired them. First, they are honest, good people, and communicate well. Second the trees were removed safely, and they cleaned up excellently. I will call them for all my tree needs in future, as I ihave a canyon side that sometimes needs attention."

"The initial visit from Rob was great. He accommodated an early time to provide a verbal estimate. After that, I was disappointed as the job was not completed within the expected time frame (2-wks), and initial attempts to follow-up were unsuccessful. With some persistence in calling, Rob finally did arrive to complete the job. The results were terrific so far, hopefully the lawn and yard will look even better with his continued efforts."

"Excellent. Mike was one of 3 estimates I received. I would say he was the most mid range price wise but it was the confidence he instilled in me explaining the job etc. Backyard is small / next to patio / balcony and 2 fence lines close to neighbors and and I back up HOA property. So, he had to very careful as not to cause any damage. He and his crew (which included his son) and 2 other workers were respectful and really took the time to explain what they were doing and then slowly and methodically cut, carried and shredded the trees. They also cleaned up the back and front area beyond what I expected. I would highly recommend Artistree to others."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Early signs that a tree is struggling include premature leaf shedding and lesions or other strange markings. Peeling bark, dead or rotten branches on the ground, and a conspicuous lack of leaves can all be signs that a tree has started to die. By the time a tree starts leaning, it’s usually too far gone to save.

On average, tree removal costs around $750, with a typical range between $200 and $2,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the tree's height, trunk diameter, species, and overall health. Accessibility is also a key factor; costs will be higher if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or located near structures like power lines or your home. Additional costs may apply for services such as stump removal (which can add $100 to $150), log-splitting, debris cleanup, and obtaining necessary permits. It is also customary to tip the professional, usually between $20 and $100.

No, you cannot throw branches from your neighbor’s tree back into their yard, nor can you discard leaves or other plant matter that originated from their yard back over there if it happens to land in your yard. You are responsible for cleaning up plant matter that made its way into your yard.

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

Palm trees are unique in that their roots don't grow straight down; they grow horizontally. Typically, palm tree roots go down between 12 and 36 inches deep. The roots grow far and wide from the base of the palm tree to absorb as much water and soil nutrients as possible. In addition, the horizontal roots are also very strong—keeping palm trees stable and helping them sway during storms.
