About us
Home & Commercial Inspections By Nelson Engineering LLC is a home and commercial property inspection service located in the San Diego area. Tom Nelson is the founder of Nelson Engineering. I am an engineer, and I have 30 years experience as a general contractor. I have been in residential and commercial building construction, as well as environmental services. My long history of being involved in all different phases of construction for 30 years has given me extensive knowledge of construction methods used in buildings. I have been a general contractor for new construction projects, as well as many remodels. I have dealt with buildings built as early as the 1900's. Please note: We only do home and commercial building inspections. We do not perform structural engineering, or foundation repairs. We do not perform FHA mobile home foundation inspections which require a structural engineer.

Wow! So responsive and detailed! Short notice inspection on a property. I live out of state so itâ s not easy conducting business sometimes. The attention to detail and follow up is incredible. He took the time to be patient with my nearly zero knowledge on home repair to go over everything in a way I could easily make sense of. Iâ ve had other home inspectors do a quick job only to miss key problem causing headaches down the road. When you spend the amounts of money on what homes cost today, you want to have peace of mind and go in eyes wide open. Tom takes pride in his service, communicates very effectively and does amazing follow up. Highly recommend!
