"We contacted Robert Lopez to get a quote on painting the interior walls of the apartment in Tustin that my fiancee and I are moving into.  Robert was not only on time for our scheduled appointment, he was actually early which showed me that this contractor was very responsible in keeping his appointments.  Robert went through the whole process with us and helped us pick the colors that would best fit with the color of our carpeting (brownish orange - kind of tricky!) and would also fit within our own personal tastes.  After finalizing the details Robert was able to give us a quote on the spot which I appreciated.  I told him that we would discuss it that night and get back to him the following day with our decision.  We decided not to use Robert's services, but not because of anything Robert did.  In fact, we really liked our experience with him and are definitely going to use his services in the future.  Our decision was based upon our experiences with our property management company who have made the entire move in process for us such a nightmare, that we are without a doubt only staying in this property for a year to satisfy our lease and then find somewhere else that we want to stay for a longer period of time.  When we find that place, we will be calling Robert back!  But it didn't make sense to paint the walls of an apartment that we are already planning on moving out of, especially before we've even moved in."

"Not good. Was rushed. Did not provide samples. I had to go buy them myself. I asked for some time so we could decide on colors. The jod was rushed and do not feel that the job was done right. Long story short I have had to fix the things they Broke or did not complete. What was promised was not done. If you hire them. Make sure you get it in writing. The crew was nice. Better if you speak Spanish. But they were a good crew. I am sorry I could not leave a better review. But with all the clean up. And getting all the paint off my wall ways. I should have got more quotes. Than had to make the check out to different people. Just a little shady to me."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

A concrete overlay is often the most cost-effective way to resurface a pool deck. To do this, you’ll need to pour a thin layer of concrete over the existing pool deck, which you can customize by stamping or painting. A stamped concrete overlay provides additional traction on a pool deck that can help minimize the risk of people slipping and falling.

While the answer varies based on weather, 10 a.m. is a good time to start painting. The dew will have dried, meaning there’s no moisture on the house, and the temperature will likely be moderate and the sunlight less direct. Starting mid-morning should also give you enough daylight and pleasant weather to work on the job for several hours.

Yes, pressure-treated wood can occasionally turn green due to certain preservatives, such as copper-based chemicals, used during the treatment process. These chemicals react with the wood, creating a greenish tint. The good news? It's temporary, and the color will fade over time. Staining or painting can also help hide any unwanted hues.

It is not always necessary to remove old stain before restaining a deck. If the previous stain is in good condition and is compatible with the new stain, you may be able to apply a new coat after thorough cleaning. However, if the old stain is in bad condition, flaking, or peeling, it is best to remove it completely to ensure an even surface and proper adhesion for the new coat. Staining over a damaged layer can lead to an uneven finish and poor penetration. For best results, test a small area first and consult the stain manufacturer's guidelines.

For the longest-lasting exterior paint, consider acrylic or enamel (oil-based) paints. Acrylic paints, including acrylic latex and acrylic enamel, are known for withstanding harsh weather and sun exposure. Enamel-based paints are also one of the most durable options available. While latex paint is common, it typically has a shorter lifespan than acrylic or oil-based options. The paint's finish also affects its durability; a higher gloss finish is generally more durable. For resistance to moisture and cracking, matte and satin finishes can be effective, while a high-gloss acrylic or oil-based paint offers a combination of maximum longevity and durability.
