"HD Mechanical did an excellent job. After trying to fix my water heater, the tech offered me two solutions, the first to repair the old unit and the second to replace it. I chose to replace the unit because it was 20 years old. He was able to return in two days and spend many hours at my home. The tech was courteous, professional, explained everything and made sure everything was working properly before he left."

"This is the second time we've called on Nick.  He answers his own service calls and was again able to come out the same day.  He arrived around his estimated time, was very thorough in his evaluation, and repaired the problems quickly in a no-nonsense manner. In my last service call to him, I had called several other providers, they were either unavailable or wanted to change out the entire system.  Nick was able to come out that same weekend day, offered a reasonable solution to my problem, and charged a very reasonable fee.  I knew whom to call this time for my HVAC problem.  I would definitely use Nick again in the future and would not hesitate to recommend him to family and friends.

"My parents were on a road trip in the middle of summer from TX to CA. Their A/C went out in the middle of the Mojave Desert. We called Precision Auto Works based on reviews. They fixed the car the next day and were extremely friendly. My parents were able to drive the car the next day, with air conditioning. The mechanics even helped to fix a few minor issues on my VW Jetta for free while we were waiting for my parent's car. Very friendly people, with exceptional knowledge about VWs.

"The technician looked at the washing machine & found that there was a major problem with it, requiring the replacement of a very  expensive part. The cost to repair it would have been over $500, so we both agreed it would be better for me to just get a new washing machine. Normally, they charge for the service trip, but because the problem couldn't be fixed they gave me a great discount on it. I will definitely use this company again.

"Had a fantastic time working with Home Comfort USA. Their associate, Max, was prompt, very professional, and provided a personal touch to his service. He not only identified and repaired broken components of my home air conditioner but also advised outside factors affecting the unit along with advice to improve the unit's performance over its lifetime. The unit went from nonfunctional to running better than it has for years inside of an afternoon. Max went the extra mile to make sure that my family and I were taken care of and to provide a personalized experience. I definitely recommend working with Home Comfort USA."

Boiler Repair questions, answered by experts

The absence of heating or hot water, unusual noises like banging or gurgling, and visible water leakage are key signs. Abnormal boiler pressure, flame irregularities (for gas boilers), or pilot light issues may also signal trouble. Frequent cycling, soot or staining, and unusual odors, particularly gas-like smells, should not be ignored. Modern boilers often display error codes or lockout mode upon detecting issues. Uneven heating across radiators and rising energy bills without increased usage can further point to problems. Prompt attention to these signs is essential to prevent further damage and ensure safety.

While it's generally safe to stay in a home with a coolant leak if your home is properly ventilated, it's important to have a professional come out to assess the situation right away. You should evacuate your home if you notice any powerful fumes. Additionally, you should leave your home if you are experiencing headaches or dizziness.

No, there isn’t always water in radiators. In a one-pipe system, water is constantly circulating from the boiler to the radiators and back. In a two-pipe system, water travels through two separate channels: one that goes to your radiators and one that returns back to the boiler so it can heat up again.

Over time, a radiator can leak if turned off due to the built-up air pressure, which can cause water or coolant to leak. If your radiator leaks when it’s off, turn your whole system off and bleed the radiator, then turn it back on. If it’s still leaking, you might want to have an HVAC professional look at the issue.

Regular maintenance includes annual inspections, filter changes, and checking for leaks or pressure inconsistencies to improve efficiency and longevity.
