"We contacted California Smartscape to give us an estimate on redoing our front and back yards. They had been destroyed by putting a pool in and by a large tree in the front yard that damaged the hardscape. We spoke at length to Richard and Nick about our budget and our ideas for the yard. The proposal they came back with was within our budget and had all the elements we wanted. We were pleasantly surprised because we had contacted others and their proposals were way above budget and did not have the elements we wanted. The crews that came out to do the work were wonderful. They were professional, considerate and respectful. Steve was a great project manager who attended to things as they came up during the work. Ruben was a good crew supervisor. He had a good relationship with his workers. Now that our project is complete, we couldn’t be happier. The whole yard has been transformed into a natural landscape with easy to care for low water plants, low voltage LED lighting and drip irrigation. We even have a small artificial grass lawn in back! "Ismael was hired to demolish a deck and a solid concrete jacuzzi.  Demolishing the deck was the easy part.  It took 2 whole days with 3-4 men, and 2 jackhammers to get rid of the jacuzzi.  On their last day, Ismael and his crew worked for 12 hrs. in the heat.  The only break they took was a short lunch break.  They worked diligently to get the job done in 3 days as promised.  We were  very impressed with Ismael's positive attitude despite the fact that the job ended up being much harder than anticipated.  He always had a smile on his face.  We would definitely hire him back if needed."

From the first visit with the sales person to the last people who did the installation we found them to be true to their word and

extremely capable , trustworthy and true to their word.  The Job was completed in

a li8ttle more than two hours and we are extremely satisfied with the finished job.  We would highly recommend them.

7/13/15:  I have worked out an arrangement with the company and at this point harbor no ill will towards them.

While we had multiple issues with ESI (not showing when scheduled, workers drinking alcohol on the job, substandard work which had to be redone), when the remodel was completed we thought we had a pretty nice looking kitchen.  Then, as months passed, we started noticing a lot of grease spots accumulating on the cabinet above the microwave.  When we hired another contractor for a bathroom remodel, we asked him to take a look at this cabinet issue.  He found that the ventilation kit had not been attached to the microwave nor to the air ducting of the house so the grease had no where to go.  Additionally, our contractor found the following issues from the ESI remodel:

*romax sticking out of the wall going directly into the bottom of a cabinet into a non-gain box

*electrical socket behind dishwasher was non GFI protected and had no cover plate so exposed to water

*4 GFI's, way to many for our kitchen area, were tied into one line.

Bottom line:  our contractor said the work had created a major safety issue which could result in a fire or electrocution.

"John was available to start the work on a Friday afternoon. He installed the new outlet competently and completely. However, John made three trips to Home Depot to pick up supplies. The store is only 2 miles from my house and the first trip took over an hour. He needed to come back the following morning to complete the work because he needed two longer screws. Finally, he had quoted $200-250; but charged me $300 because the "supplies cost nearly $100.""
