"Excellent experience with this AC service. Christian was prompt, friendly professional and most importantly HONEST. I inquired about cleaning and maintaining my AC unit for the upcoming summer and he did an excellent job, no hidden fees and price was fair. I was given helpful tips on how to keep my system running smoothly. Fast forward to almost end of summer and wanted to have him assess why 2 of the rooms upstairs was not blowing cool air. Chrsitian was able to quickly diagnose the issue and explained my options in detail. He was able to fix the problem that day and wanted me to follow with him to make sure everything was good. My system is working great and blowing cool air evenly throughout the house."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Freon will go in the refrigerant lines near the back of your AC unit. Look for small ports with caps on a thin copper line—the Freon goes into those ports. You are best off hiring a licensed HVAC professional who can complete the job safely and correctly.

The simplest indicator is how long it’s been since your last tune-up. You should schedule an annual AC tune-up each spring. Beyond that, there are multiple signs that your AC needs a quick check by a professional. These issues include higher-than-average energy bills, decreased air flow from vents, higher indoor temperatures, and an air conditioning unit that stays on all the time or frequently turns on and off.

While many states do not have specific licensing requirements for HVAC companies, your local city or county might. It's always a good idea to check local requirements online and use a tool like Angi’s contractor license lookup to confirm that the company you’re considering is licensed. Regardless of licensing, you should always ensure the company you hire is fully insured to avoid potential lawsuits if a technician is injured on your property. Additionally, it is recommended to check if the company holds third-party certifications, such as North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification or R-410A certification, which qualifies them to work with HVAC refrigerants.

You might notice that your air conditioner isn’t running as effectively as it once did. Specifically, your AC unit could take longer to cool your home, or it might struggle to remove humidity from the air. Higher utility bills and hissing sounds coming out of your AC could also indicate a leak.

You will enjoy greater energy efficiency and save on your annual energy bills, with new, modern HVAC systems using 30% to 50% less energy than older models. Upgrading your HVAC system is also a great way to embrace new technology, such as smart thermostats, lighting, fan speed, and humidity from your phone or tablet.
