"Shaine answered my Angi inquiry immediately and scheduled a no-cost home visit and assessment. I have a heat lamp/light/fan unit in the ceiling of my bathroom, and the fan was making a dying noise. After inspecting the unit, Shaine discussed a few options with me. The unit was installed in 1990 and the model has been discontinued. Shaine researched online and found a source for a similar unit, then did a second home visit and replaced the unit. He worked quickly and expertly to change the dimensions of the ceiling opening and do the installation. The unit works beautifully now!! I was very pleased with Shaine's professional manner, friendly communication, tenacity, and expertise!"

"STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. I hesitate to write this review only because it will only make it harder to get Sergio to conduct electrical work for my house. Sergio was fantastic - clearly dedicated to his profession. Because he was replacing the entire panel, came out to look at it beforehand to make sure he had the parts. No unnecessary time was wasted on the day of installation because he knew what was needed. I have already set up for Sergio to come to do more work at the house!"

"They communicated very well, always on time, very professionally done in a safe manner per guidelines.
I would definitely hire them again as removing popcorn ceilings is a tough job. They replastered and painted in a seamless manner. Looks beautiful.

"

It went beautifully! After each step Mr. Rizzo informed me of what he was doing. He was very patient with allowing me to stay around and watch and ask questions! I would highly recommend Mr. Rizzo and most definitely from now on, he will be one we call. He was professional and knew exactly what he was doing. You could not find a better handyman. We chose Mr. Rizzo from the excellent reviews he had received on Angie's List. We are happy to add to the reviews.

"No surprises, satisfied overall, but attention to detail was inconsistent. The stair railings were generally well built, but in one section they meet a post at different angles, not a huge deal but annoying considering that it was easily avoidable. The landing was nicely done, as was the fascia, although there Manuel had to redo some sloppy work performed by his assistant."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

The number of blades for your fan poses both advantages and disadvantages. Typically, the more blades on a fan, the better the air distribution and cooling effect, but this also means that your fan will have more wear on its motor. For small rooms, three-blade fans should work fine. For larger areas like living rooms, four or five-blade fans might be the better option.

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.

For a 12x12 room, a fan between 36" and 50" will work, as it falls in the range for spaces up to 144 square feet. These size fans provide adequate air circulation and ensure a comfortable environment without being overpowering. Even better, they come in a broad range of styles, offering aesthetics and functionality, making them suitable choices for maintaining an ideal room temperature and enhancing overall comfort.

In short, no. You can use the square footage range chart in this article to determine the right size ceiling fan for both indoor and outdoor spaces. However, weather elements can damage types of ceiling fans that aren't designed for outdoor use, so your ceiling fan should be weather-resistant if you plan to install it outside.
