"Very respectful and friendly. Needed to have a site cleared for construction and they were able to accommodate my needs as I lived on the property at the time of clearing and grading. I was more than satisfied with the results and time it took for them to complete the job."

"Chris and his team arrived with a flat bed truck and went to work after walking the job and providing a quote that I found reasonable.  In the end; the flat bed truck was completely filled to the top,  and side yard was completly clear of yard debris.  All in all, Silverback hauling removed approximately 4 - 5 dumpster loads in a matter of 2 hours and removed the last 16 feet of old redwood fence.  Note: For me to haul the debris away it would have taken me approximately 20 or so runs to the dump, gas and the entire day.
I would recommend Silverback Hauling and Demolition to any of my friends, neighbors and anyone.  Chris, thank you for your time and providing updates via phone calls.
To all of my fellow Angie list members, Chris believes in communication by phone, which seems difficult for other contractors but not Chris.  Fantastic customer service!

"I don't use contractors much because I do most of my repairs and construction. But after my 30,000 gallon pool started dropping 3 inches of water a day after spending about $10,000 in various repairs over the past 5 years on it, I decided to have it demolished, a task that was way out of my scope. After meeting with 4 other contractors, I chose Transcend because John came off as a straight shooter and just a nice guy. Their bid was the lowest which was almost 70% lower than the highest bid. I told John what my plan was for the backfill area, a garden oasis with trees. He assured me, and even set aside before the start, that he would obtain "good" dirt and not construction backfill dirt. After work, I would stop by the property and check on progress. They worked efficient and effective as there was no damage to any of the structures on my property. The biggest factor though of me writing this review, as I don't write often, is these guys' integrity. As the project got delayed 2 days because of rain I knew these guys were behind schedule and that they had another job lined up. Nonetheless, while I was at work, they rejected a load of dirt that was dropped off in front of the property and made the truck come back and pick it up as it was full of sand and gravel unsuitable for planting. This, and procuring better dirt, cost them an additional day but spoke volumes to their integrity and client's best interest. With no reservations, I recommend these guys and not for just their affordability, but great workmanship and a pleasure to work with."

"When we purchased the house, it was a 30 year old home. Almost everybody in the period of five years to seven years wanted to convert to copper plumbing. So what they offered at that time was anyone you referred to if they chose to use their service, you have $500 cash payment which was really nice because half of our neighbors and our family members used them. I do not know what they do now, but it is a really nice service because they are a very good company. They did a great job."

"The work started on 9/3/2015. They would make appointments and not show up.  They would show up for a while and then I wouldn't see them for a week. That occurred throughout the job. They would only work on my job for a couple of days at a time. I had to keep calling them to get them to come out. On 9/28, I called them at around 11 as they were supposed to be here that morning with a full crew. They ended up sending out a skeleton crew. Their foreman quit in the middle of the job. The second foreman was unavailable 90% of time I would try to reach him. The owner eventually came out. They tied the drain on my deck into the drain in my front yard. This ended up overloading the drain in my front yard. Their trucks leaked oil on my driveway. After the job was done the project manager said that he would send someone out to clean up the oil. No one has ever shown up. They're overbooked. Be prepared to have an unnecessarily drawn out project. They finished on 10/21/2015. They're due to come back in January to put more joint sand around the pavers."

"Received several proposals based on a landscape design already prepared. Ali was very knowledgeable about details and was able to revise his proposal on the fly while meeting with us to fit within our budget, while still achieving our aesthetic goals. Work started promptly, and generally proceeded uninterrupted, with only one or two exceptions. As a rule, there was some work done every day, and occasionally a large team showed up to complete a phase of the project before the weekend. All of RES's workers and project manager were very courteous and professional. Some changes were made at our request along the way with reasonable change in cost. Also, some undesirable variations from the plan occurred, but these were promptly corrected upon request. A more formal change order process may have avoided these deviations, but the final product was of excellent, showing obvious pride in work quality, and Ali had many helpful suggestions along the way. Final cleanup currently underway."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

A boundary survey measures the boundary lines of the property, only the length of each property line and their locations. A land survey includes a more in-depth measurement of the property, including the heights and depths of the terrain measured by a topographic survey. A boundary survey is typically the most cost-effective method for marking and measuring property lines.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.

You will find a collection of licensed land surveyors in your area. Your real estate agent or construction manager may also be able to recommend a trusted professional. When speaking with prospective pros in your area, ask the land surveyor if they are licensed in the state, have liability insurance, and can quote you a fee before starting.

Property lines, building locations, and potential encroachments are mapped.

Yes, they assess topography and potential risks related to flooding.
