"Unfortunately, I needed an HVAC company to fix my AC during a heat wave. Most companies were 5+ days out before they could even diagnose our problem. Called 3 highly visible companies, from their marketing, who said they wouldn't even work on our unit. I went with a referral from a neighbor, mistake. This company took a week to get to us then the tech went MIA for 5 days with no contact when he said he would be back tomorrow with parts. Won't mention their name as there could have been multiple uncontrollable reasons why. I then did a lot of research on different companies across multiple review websites (including Angies) and Excel Air stood out. Once I spoke to the office staff, great experience, they had a tech out to our home in 2 days with our problem diagnosed. Our tech's name was Lucas who was efficient with his time, talked me through what was going on and gave us our estimate which we were happy to move forward with. Lucas fixed our problem in under 20 minutes. Me being me, I watched each step and saw the quality work. He even put in a fuse to ensure the same problem didn't happen again to our transformer. After a brief inspection, including a trip to the attic, they told us we needed a completely new duct system at a cost of nearly $8,000. "This was the perfect contractor experience. Brian was on time, personable, and obviously experienced since he installed my Wifi thermostat when three other places I called either blew me off or would not do a wifi installation. Also, a very nice handyman who did other work for me tried to install it but could not make it work. Sok I was worried he would encounter problems, but he did the installation quickly, noting that he did not need the jumper provided by Ecobee since the furnace installer had left a fifth wire he could use. (So, he obviously knew what he was doing). He provided me with the code from the thermostat so I could set it up on my phone app. AND...he did all of this remotely while I was in a another state! Finally, what he wanted to charge was only the standard fee I would expect for an HVAC home visit. I could hardly believe it. You better believe his number is saved in my home for any future HVAC needs. Fantastic!"
