- Shefer Builder INCUpdate: I was not paid to give a review and I did utilize and hire Shefer Builders for a total remodel. Remodeling can be stressful. So many decisions and expenses. We thought about it several years. We researched, planned, saved and interviewed several companies. We wanted a general contractor that could handle all our needs (one stop). We met with Yani of Shefer Builder twice. We shared our budget, our wants, and our concerns. It’s important you find someone you feel comfortable with and can have confidence in. It’s your home after all. He made us feel excited about the possibilities and his portfolio was extensive. He had loads of ideas and thoughtful ways and places we could make our dreams come true. We’d lived in our 1950s home for 20 years. Everything needed updating. From the roof down to new flooring, new windows, doors, outside stucco, and a gorgeous new open floor plan kitchen (removed a wall) and bathroom! We couldn’t be happier now! The end result is amazing. It looks like something in a magazine. Yet very livable. Yani helped with choosing wall colors, tile, flooring and fixtures. They built a new master walk-in closet with custom organizers. Added crown molding and pocket lights throughout and durable pretty flooring. During the process Yani stayed in touch constantly and sent pictures of the progress. If we had a question he was very responsive in returning a call or text. He stayed within our budget and even found places to save us money. We joke if we win the lotto we’ll have Shefer Builder back to add a second story. We’d be happy to provide more info

He was quick to respond if questions arose and he followed up throughout the process to make sure things were going well. Side-note: I recommend choosing your tile and coping early in the process so it can be ordered and ready to go. Our coping wasn’t in stock (no fault of Steve’s) but waiting for it to come in put a hold on our project for a bit. We are very happy with the end result and our family is enjoying the new pool! "We worked with Bay Builders on a garage remodel. The original ideas were big, including adding a bathroom, but the end result was that we finished the walls, created a new office space, and freshened up the laundry area. We had storage cabinets on both sides of the existing garage that we wanted to repurpose in the new design. Sam and his crew had great input on what was feasible, and they worked with the city on permits (which also had us adjusting the scope of our project).
The crews that came in were great. All of the workers were super polite and easy to talk with. Everyone was safe and the job site was clean at the end of each work day. Chris and his crew spent the most time here, and everyone was safe and the job site was clean at the end of every day. Jose did an awesome job with the electrical. Everyone listened to our ideas and took our input, and had good ideas of their own on what would really work.

"Our friend that recently finished building their home, recommended us Moses & HomeTech for our home remodel in Palo Alto. We remodeled, reconfigure our 2300sf and added about 400sf . The planning and permitting process took some time but based on what I heard it is very standard for Palo Alto and size of the project . I personally enjoyed the design process and appreciated patience , creativity and suggestions from Moses and his engineer and designer .
After we received final approval from the city , things went very smooth and project was completed well before estimated time.
We moved out from the house and also spent significant time outside of country but team kept us informed throughout the process. We appreciated transparency and being straight with cost and possible surprises from the beginning.
