"Paul and Fairway Electric and the technician we work with, Jaime, are the best! It's always wonderful to see Jaime, he's such a pro, and our family truly appreciates the relationship we've maintained with Fairway for over 10 years now, with Fairway handling all our electrical work."

"Chris is knowledgeable in installing chargers for EVs. Our project was a little complicated cause the charger needed to be installed in the covered parking of a condominium building. The HOA required us to do a permitted work. Most electricians shy away from such projects because of the complexity of getting permits and dealing with the scrutiny of the HOA. Chris applied and received the permit and he did a very clean job installing over 170 feet of conduit from our electric meter in the meter room all the way to my parking spot."

"RR Electric Heating & Air have EXCELLENT customer service. We had them replace our air conditioning unit / furnace and although the initial installation had a problem with the coils, I reached out to their customer service and they sent someone out to our house the next morning. The unit was permanently fixed within a week once the replacement coils arrived -- all under warranty and without hassle."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Begin by confirming you have the proper permits for your electrical project in Camarillo and review the local amendments to the California Electrical Code. Early coordination with your utility provider helps prevent service delays, especially for panel upgrades or new home wiring. Schedule inspections in advance, and check with your HOA for neighborhood-specific rules. Proactive planning keeps your project compliant and minimizes unexpected setbacks.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Camarillo, keep a voltage tester, wire strippers, insulated screwdrivers, and a reliable flashlight for safety during outages. Outdoor-rated extension cords, GFCI testers, and weatherproof electrical boxes are essential for local conditions. Stock UV-resistant wire nuts and surge protectors to handle strong sun and occasional storms. Emergency lighting and extra batteries are also smart to have, especially during Santa Ana wind events.

Helpful?

Watch for frequent GFCI trips, flickering lights during windy weather, burning odors, or outlets that feel warm—these can signal moisture intrusion, loose connections, or potential fire hazards in Camarillo homes. Older properties may have outdated electrical panels or aluminum wiring, increasing risk. Also, check for rodent damage, corrosion from coastal air, and sun-damaged outdoor components, as these issues can quickly escalate if left unaddressed.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical work in Camarillo, secure all required permits and verify any HOA restrictions that might impact your plans. Contact 811 to mark underground utilities, then coordinate with your utility provider for service changes. Schedule inspections early and consider local weather patterns—planning around Santa Ana winds or extreme heat helps avoid delays, especially for outdoor electrical panel upgrades or exterior wiring projects.

Helpful?

In Camarillo, residential electricians handle home wiring, panel upgrades, and lighting installations, while commercial contractors focus on larger buildings and complex systems. Solar installation specialists are in high demand due to the area’s sunny climate, and many contractors offer expertise in electric vehicle charger setups and smart home automation. Look for professionals familiar with Camarillo’s fire safety codes, HOA requirements, and local trends like solar retrofits.
