"I have now used our RR Electric on two separate occasions and I m so pleased with the work they ve done for me! The first job was installing six chandeliers and they did an amazing job and left the place spotless! This time we had electrical outlets put in and a couple fixed and the level of detail is impressive! Your home will be left cleaner than when they got here and the work will be done perfectly!!!"

"After getting two different quotes I called selectric LLC I liked the fair price given by this electrical company . They were professional and my electrical work was completed promptly. I would recommend this company to my friends and family in need of any electrical work.. I would definitely use them again when needed."

Small jobs welcome

"Great locally owned company, stands behind their work and great communication. The hardest part of electrical workers is getting one that will communicate well. These guys are it. I had a previous electrician who messed up some work, Gold Coast had enough integrity to ask me after the job if it was caused by them. It was not but they were ready to come in and do us right. I am going to hire them to fix the bad electrical work that was done by previous contractor."

"Last week, LT Generators installed a 22 KW generator with back up propane tank. Everything went smoothly from the beginning of the process to the end with the entire installation taking less than six hours. The crew showed up on time and were professional and very courteous. Their communication skills were amazing as they explained what the installation entailed, when our electricity would be off and for how long, and then explained how the generator worked which included the testing of the system. I would highly recommend LT Generators for anyone thinking about installing a generator at their home or business."

"Our phone system went down after 3 1/2 days of other companies coming and saying we'll be back in morning i went on home advisor. Within 15 min i got a call back. Explained what the issue was. Service tech said he would clear his schedule and be here at 11. He showed up on time and had our phones up and running and a few other things done also. We definitely will be using them in the future. Thank you Inatel communications for your excellent service from all of us at Valley Brake"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Choosing between 12- or 14-gauge wire for your house depends on the electrical requirements of the circuit. A 12-gauge wire is thicker and can handle more power, making it better suited for devices such as kitchen appliances, air conditioning units, or electric heaters.

A 14-gauge wire is thinner and can handle less electrical current than a 12-gauge wire. It's ideal for circuits with lower power requirements, such as lighting or general-purpose outlets in bedrooms or living rooms.

An AC disconnect, also known as a switch box or fuse box, is a safety switch that allows the AC’s electrical supply to be turned off from the outside, usually done by a mechanical contractor coming to work on your unit. The box is protected from the weather by a cover or may be designed as a pull-out unit. Your local code determines where the AC disconnect must be mounted, but it's usually close to your outdoor AC unit.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.

Volts and watts aren’t directly convertible units—they measure different aspects of electricity. Volts measure electrical potential, while watts quantify the power. The relationship between the two is defined by the equation: Power (watts)= Voltage (volts) x Current (amperes). In other words, the product of volts and amps results in watts, but there is no fixed conversion of volts into watts.

Yes, you must use the proper wire nut that fits your wire gauge. Using a wire nut that’s too big or too small can cause your connection to fail, short circuit, or disconnect entirely. Ensuring that you have the proper wire nut size will guarantee that your connection lasts as long as possible.
