The mechanic came in today, he gave me the quote, he said it would just cost about $400.00 for the whole thing, but once he got here, he broke down the pricing this way: I have a refrigerator mechanic is here, he's telling me that it will cost $120.00 for the service call, $174.00 for the labor, $100.00 for the part, but that doesn't include tax, I told him that it was ok to take a look and start it, he took the part with him to compare prices, and he also said that they charge $87.00/hour for the work, that is the $174.00 for labor. I am not comfortable with the pricing because I don't want to be overcharged in the long run. I did explain to him yesterday what I needed, but I didn't tell him everything that I needed that needs to be done with the refrigerator, but he figured it out. I just want to make sure that the hourly charge is correct, as well as me having to pay for the parts needed, but he did offer other options if my budget was tight. He is willing to work with me budget wise. He is extremely polite and helpful, I just want some reassurance that the charges he quoted are something normal that other consumers are charged for the same type of work. He found other issues that we were unaware of, and gave us helpful tips to keep our fridge running properly. Consumer agreed to have me submit a review about this contractor for her"
