We have also won Arizona Daily Star Best In Tucson awards in 2019 and 2020. "We were charged $2,000 just to dig a hole in the ground, with no work done, only for leak diagnostics. Later, they told us it’d cost almost another $2,000 to actually fix the leak, with no guarantee it wouldn’t be more and no warranty for the job. We stopped after paying the first $2,000 and are now looking for someone else to handle it. Other than that, they do good work, they’re just ridiculously expensive."

The most obvious downside is the high upfront cost of buying and installing one of these systems. Additionally, sometimes the system can take a longer time to heat than alternatives like a boiler. Also, if something goes wrong with the geothermal pump, repairs are often significantly more expensive than repairing traditional, above-ground heat pumps.
