"This was a great carpet cleaning! It made my carpet feel like new and much softer. There were some spots I have worked and worked on to get out, and they were gone! Derrick did a great job; moved furniture and worked around my dogs. The carpet dried quickly and it may be my imagination, but the house smelled fresher. I will definitely call them again."

"Overall an excellent experience.  Daniel arrived a few minutes early.  We reviewed the rooms and stairs to be cleaned.  Daniel asked good questions and explained his process.  Once he started, he kept at it for multiple hours until all the rooms we done.  We reviewed the progress a few times throughout the day.  Daniel did an an excellent job, the carpets looked fantastic.  Would definitely recommend and hire again in the future."

"I told him, I don't remember his name unfortunately, that I wanted to have the master and one of the other bedrooms cleaned. I also wanted to have special attention paid to the closet on the small bedroom and have that cleaned extra well if possible; it smelled like cat urine to me. He was very nice and did as I asked. For an extra $30 he also scotchgarded the carpets for me. I asked if he did tile too and what it would cost. I recall him stating that he does clean tile, but not the price quoted. Even so, he still gave me some pointers on keeping the tile clean in between cleanings and a magnetic card. Would I call this company back? Absolutely!

"We used both services, this part of the review is for the window cleaning.  It went just fine.  Two men showed up on time, they were professional and didn't over bill us.  I thought I had French windows but they said that the framework was inside the window, not outside, therefore would not charge for that service.  They were quick, efficient and friendly.
The carpet cleaning went well - the technician took into account that the carpet was pretty new and not too dirty, so he didn't try to up-sell me on a protectant application - I appreciated that.

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

In most cases, you do not need to put padding or underlayment under carpet tiles. Unlike traditional carpet, which requires a separate pad, carpet tiles are designed to be installed directly onto a firm subfloor like plywood, concrete, or tile. Many carpet tiles come with a built-in underlay and attach with peel-and-stick adhesive, double-sided carpet tape, or glue. For a more comfortable, cushioned feel, especially in residential settings, you can opt for padded carpet tiles that have a thicker underlay attached. While it's generally not recommended to install a separate pad, a compact underlayment might be used in some situations, though this typically requires professional installation. An acoustic underlay may also be considered in commercial spaces or multi-level homes where noise reduction is a priority.

The life span of carpet in a home with children and animals depends on factors like the carpet material’s quality, how frequently you clean and maintain it, and the level of foot traffic. On average, carpets need to be replaced every five to 15 years. Signs of wear, matting, or persistent odors may indicate that it's time to contact a local flooring company to replace your carpet.

On average, installing carpet costs between $3 and $11 per square foot, depending on factors like the carpet material, style, and labor rates in your area. Sometimes, installers will include carpet removal in these costs, so if you don’t have any carpet to remove, you can save time and spend less money on labor.

While it is possible to install carpet yourself, it is a challenging DIY project that requires precise measurement, proper cutting skills, and knowledge of correct installation techniques. The process involves multiple steps, including removing old flooring, installing underlayment and tack strips, and stretching the carpet to prevent wrinkles, which can take several days to complete.

Before starting, consider these factors:

  • Warranty: Many manufacturers' warranties are voided if the carpet is not installed by a professional.

  • Tools: You will need to buy or rent specialized equipment like a knee kicker, carpet stretcher, and seam roller.

  • Complexity: DIY installation is most suitable for simple, straightforward rooms. Projects involving stairs or floor vents are significantly more difficult.

  • Cost: While you can save on labor, the cost of tools plus the risk of expensive mistakes—which may require re-installation—can make hiring a professional more cost-effective in the long run.

Given the potential for errors, voided warranties, and the need for special tools, hiring a local carpet installer is often recommended to ensure the job is done correctly and safely.

You may get better coverage painting your baseboards if you do so before carpet is installed. The best course of action may be to attempt to paint them between having the old floor removed and the new floor laid, though this will render the room unusable for a period of time and may make the entire project a bit slower overall.
