If the shut-off valve to your kitchen sink appears to be stuck or broken, there's no need to panic! The workaround is to turn off the main valve that supplies water to your entire household. This valve is located along the main water line. Of course, it's also important to have a plumber repair the malfunctioning shut-off valve under your kitchen sink because this indicates a problem.

Try to tighten the clevis crew and adjust the lift rod if your sink stopper won’t stay up. Sometimes your screws became too loose over time, and as a result, there wasn’t enough resistance to keep the sink stopper up. If a damaged lift rod is the cause of the problem, you will need to replace it with a new rod.

To drain a broken toilet, place towels or plastic sheeting around the base in case of splashing or overflowing.
