"Fantastic Job! I am a REALTOR and A&J Painting has painted many of my listings and helped many of my buyers paint their homes. I have personally used him to paint the interior and exterior of my home. I highly recommend them and have used them multiple times."

"Dany recently painted the exterior stucco on our house. He did a great job. The cost was reasonable and his work was professional and neat. I would use him and his crew again in a heart beat."

"Handy Man Mike did awesome work for me! My big project was removing carpet and installing new floors. Job was done perfectly. He also repaired a paneled wall, painted, replaced light fixtures & a ceiling fan as well as all electrical outlets and switches and more. So much work! It was a total room makeover and I couldn t be happier. Not sure there s much he can t do. Already planning out my next project for him!"

"The initial response to my Angie's list big deal was prompt.  Sid came to my house to give me an estimate.  Originally he was going to remove wallpaper in 3 bathrooms.  When he saw the areas he kept saying he would do as much as he could then the rest would be more money.  The work was scheduled for early September.  When I contacted Sid in Sept. he was having problems with his truck but he did come on Saturday of that week to do the work.  He started in the master bathroom.  After a little more than 3 hours I checked in.  I was amazed to find only about 2.5 or 3 strips removed.  Sid looked stressed and the room was a mess.  I told him to stop for the day and we could reschedule the remaining hour and he gave me an estimate of $200 to complete the bathroom.  This was not a large area.  I had some difficulty in contacting Sid to schedule the rest of the work and I had to call Angies's List before I got a response from him.  Eventually he came back and removed the rest of the wallpaper.  This time it went smoothly and it took about 5hours.  I then said I did not want anymore paper removed and paid him $200.  This was a frustrating and disappointing experience.

"We own a property management company and Brent is my go-to guy for all painting, tile, drywall and wall paper removal. He is just as happy with small jobs as with big ones. This job was repairing the drywall on the ceiling from a bathroom leak above. He did such a great job. He is super easy to communicate with. He does what he says he is going to do when he says he is going to do it. What more could you want? You can't even tell where the leak was when he was finished. Amazing!"

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

Removing a wallpaper border requires the same process to remove full walls of wallpaper. Clear the area, spray down the surface with your hot water and vinegar solution or store-bought spray, wait 10 to 15 minutes, then scrape it off with a putty knife. Sometimes, border wallpaper lifts easier than larger sheets, so you can just peel it right off the wall by hand.

Using a fabric softener solution is a popular and low-cost DIY method for removing wallpaper, but its effectiveness is limited. While it may work on some types of wallpaper, it is unlikely to be successful on vintage styles, and there is no evidence that it is more effective than other removal methods. There are also several potential downsides: the solution can leave behind a residue that may damage your walls or interfere with the adhesion of new wallpaper. Additionally, this method can create a strong, overpowering aroma that takes a long time to dissipate, making it a poor choice for homeowners sensitive to smells.

Yes, you can pay someone to strip wallpaper. Before you hang new wallpaper, you should hire a local wallpaper removal service to prep the surface properly. Wallpaper removal pros cost $0.55 to $1.50 per square foot or $500 to $700 per room. Prices vary by room size and removal technique, as some options are more labor-intensive.

The simple nature of peel and stick wallpaper means it should come off much more easily than traditional wallpaper that is glued to your walls. You’ll still want to work slowly and carefully to avoid tearing it, but most peel and stick wallpaper should come off without a chemical agent to loosen it.

Rubbing alcohol may help dissolve stubborn wallpaper adhesive that remains after removal, but be sure to apply it carefully to prevent damaging your walls. Apply a small amount using a cotton swab or pad, then gently scrape or wipe the adhesive away.
