"I grew up on a farm and have never had to hire a handyman in my entire 54 years of being. A low battery caused a smoke alarm to start chirping at 2:00 in the morning on a Sunday. I made the comment that if it kept me from falling off a 16 foot ladder and maiming myself, that would be worth, say, $200.00? The call cost us $75.00 which I assume is the minimum.
