"I have had the assistance of several excellent handymen over the years. I have relocated to Scottsdale and it seems a drive for those I have used in the past. I decided to take a chance as I felt I needed the job done sooner then later. I posted my request at 11 PM and that next morning bright and early Tony called. He was personable and very patient as I was caught off guard with such a rapid response. We connected later when I had a better idea of my schedule. He arrived on time as promised with everything that I expect a competent handyman would have. Quite systematically went about each item on my list making sure he understood how I wanted things. He was pleasant but wasted no time on the job. His price was very reasonable. He was detail oriented and if there was any dust or debris promptly cleared it, and replaced furniture items to their rightful place. I could not be more pleased!!! I will use his services again and again. Thank you Tony...looking forward to seeing you sometime in the future11"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Yes, adding a pool to your property will almost always increase your homeowners insurance premiums. This is because pools are considered hazardous, which increases your home's liability risk. The replacement cost of the pool itself is also factored into your home's rebuilding cost when determining coverage limits. The amount of the increase can vary from as little as $50 to several hundred dollars more per year, depending on your insurance company, location, current coverage, and installed safety features. It is best to contact your insurance agent before installing a pool to get an estimate, understand their specific guidelines, and factor the ongoing cost into your budget.

Most importantly, you should never cut corners when building a pool. Whether it’s an in-ground or aboveground, poorly constructed pools are dangerous to both the swimmers and your property. Leaks can even lead to home foundation damage. While you can DIY smaller elements of pool installation, always hire a contractor to oversee the process.

A pool heater is worth the expense, given that it can extend your swimming season by several months, depending on where you live. For many, adding a pool heater allows the pool to remain in service from May through mid-October. Even temperatures in the 40s and 50s are tolerable when the water in the pool is heated.

Concrete pools have the longest life span. As long as you properly maintain your concrete pool, you can expect it to last 50 to 100 years. That said, you will need to resurface your concrete pool as it ages. Fiberglass is durable, but fiberglass pools generally only last around 25 to 30 years. That said, some high-end fiberglass pools can last more than 50 years if they’re well-maintained.

Yes, you will need to shock your pool with high levels of chlorine or bromine when you first fill it to kill off bacteria and pathogens. You’ll need to wait for the chlorine concentration to come back down to a safe level before swimming. After that, you can test and maintain the chlorine and other levels as normal. The only exception to this is if you get pool water delivered by a professional. In that case, the water might come pretreated, so you might not need to shock it.
