Customers say: Quality work

"We want to share our complete satisfaction on our kitchen remodel/renovation in November, 2022. What initially sold us on going to Re-New Cabinets was their website. In addition to having a showroom to look at cabinetry, doors, colors, pull-outs and the difference of refacing vs new cabinets we also got first hand recommendations from Arlette on what we could do. With Arlette, we were able to see in her showroom, how the lower cabinet doors could be replaced with pull-out drawers that could handle a ton of weight and came out to be more spacious for storage. These lower cabinets were previously fitted with old, tedious pullouts and minor reconstruction needed to be done. Robert, Arletteâ s husband, suggested using cabinet doors in new framing to salvage mail type slots that we utilized and could hide for a clean, finished look. Robert comes on site to define/measures/ professionally diagrams then prices out the project. His suggestions for a new, straight pullout for our trash can/recycling bins turned out way better than the door we used on a hinge. We had another narrower pullout converted for cutting boards put in next to the dishwasher that we picked out that works so well for better storage. We also had glass doors put in and Renew finished the inside so the flow of color completely sweeps through the cabinets and looks uniformed. So, even if you think you have difficulty figuring out what to do or what can be done, ask Arlette and Robert. The craftsmanship of the cabinet replacement doors, drawers and pullouts was phenomenal. The crew who did the staining on uppers and painting on the lowers did a perfect job. We chose the colors we wanted and we received them in the final product. It was amazing. Most importantly, the conversion done by Mario on site could not have been done any better. He was an artist in how he carefully demoed then pulled the whole kitchen back together. The veneer used was top quality and perfectly matched in color to the staining on the doors. Overall, the meticulous staining/painting work performed by the all in-house staff back at the shop and on site is appreciated and were a pleasure to work with. Emily is terrific in helping with communications by phone/email/text throughout the project management with Arlette. Finally, after looking at their website, then going to the showroom with almost limitless possibilities on what we could do by far beat out the other 5 competitors we looked at; and most did not have a showroom, or enough samples, materials or colors to look over. The cost was fair and accurate for all the materials and labor performed. Re-new Cabinets gave us more for less than a competitor we did bring in for a bid that was ridiculous. You can do your research, but Iâ ll bet you go with Re-New Cabinets."

"Russ Hendrickson is capable, reliable, courteous and fair. He knows how to build and reface cabinets! He did exactly what I asked him to do and he was good about pointing out issues to consider (or re-consider!). He communicated frequently with me throughout the project. He pays attention to detail and cleans up after his work. I'd absolutely hire him again."

"They did counter tops for a rental I have. They turned out beautiful. In a different house they installed cabinets in the whole house and they turned out the same. Great workmanship!"

"I was impressed with Sam's presentation the first time he came to our home. I felt reassured and confident with his professionalism, knowledge and competency. During the six weeks Sam worked to remodel our kitchen, I felt increasingly trusting of his skills. His staff likewise, were friendly, courteous, responsible and skilled. I really appreciated having a day by day itinerary of what to expect, as well as full awareness of our costs at the point of contract-signing and throughout the project's evolution. Sam checked-in daily to assess whether all work was to our satisfaction, and was helpful and encouraging with the selections we made during the kitchen remodel. The company adhered to a tight schedule without missteps. I also had our ceilings refinished in two rooms, new lighting installed, stair-railing refinished, a front door set stained and installed, a bathroom painted with plumbing repairs done and the installation of a toilet. With each completed project, new work was requested due to the fine results we experienced. We would welcome Unique Coatings and Construction back into our home for additional work without question."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Daniel, a contractor who exceeded all my expectations. He completed my kitchen backsplash, installed a bathroom vanity, and repaired a drywall seam between my living room and kitchen. Each task was executed with precision and attention to detail, showcasing his exceptional craftsmanship. Daniel's professionalism and commitment to quality were evident from start to finish. He was punctual, communicated clearly, and left the workspace immaculate every day. The kitchen backsplash looks stunning, the bathroom vanity is flawlessly installed, and the drywall repair is seamless—it's like the damage was never there. If you're considering hiring a contractor, I highly recommend Daniel. You won't be disappointed. We are moving into a turn-key home, but we will definitely retain Daniel's contact information for any future projects. Thank you, Daniel, for your outstanding work and dedication to being apart of helping us sell our home!"

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

Even the least DIY-savvy homeowner can replace cabinet hardware themselves. All you need is a drill, screwdriver, and a tape measure. However, always take the time to measure and fit carefully. Misalignment or dodgy drill holes can spoil the entire look of your cabinet makeover, and repairs or replacement cabinets can be costly.

While it’s possible to reface or refinish kitchen cabinets yourself, it requires substantial time, money, and sweat equity. In particular, cabinet refacing requires many tools and materials, costing you between $1,645 and $6,570, depending on what you already own. Besides that, this is a project that shows imperfections easily. If carpentry isn't your strong suit, hiring a cabinet professional is best to ensure high-quality results.

Yes, soft-close drawers are quick and simple to add to a refacing project. Get in touch with a kitchen cabinet refacing contractor for an estimate. In many cases, your cabinet contractor or repair person can bundle the cost of upgrading your cabinets to soft-close drawers into the total bill of your project. They may even offer a discount for combining these services, but you’ll need to shop around for the best deal.

You should not clean cabinets with vinegar. While many homeowners think it is a natural cleaner, vinegar is a mild acid, not a degreaser. Since it does not cut through greasy grime, it won't effectively remove it from kitchen cabinets. For best results, use a degreasing cleaner designed for prep work, then rinse and dry thoroughly before sanding.

Any of your garage shelves should be able to hold heavier loads, but it’s best to place heavier items on middle shelves. The only reason for this is to prevent injury—lifting heavy loads from down low requires squatting or bending over, which can lead to back injury, and lifting heavy loads off of high shelves in the garage can be especially dangerous if you drop them.
