"I cannot say enough about Aaron Schwarder and Schwarder Construction. We bought a home that had not been updated since 1964. Plumbing included. Aarons crews redid both baths and the kitchen. Beautiful bright Carrera look tile, white counter tops, beadboard, wainscoting. New light and plumbing fixtures. Kitchen went from dark and cave like with fluorescent lights in plexiglass recessed ceiling thing, to raised ceiling, high end appliances, beadboard cabinets and an open to the dining room floor plan. Aaron was not satisfied with the cabinet surfaces and repainted them himself. All custom cabinets. Very important to me is the comfort level of having people working in my home. It can be awkward, to say the least. Aaron's guys are very respectful and always clean up at the end of the day, even if they are coming back in the morning. They were very careful not to let the animals escape. Recently I called the home depot pro desk with some questions about installing a new entry door and the first name they gave me was Schwarder Construction. I was raised to believe that a man's word is his worth. You can take Aaron at his word. 5 stars only because you cannot rate higher."

He was flexible as our design plans changed and had good ideas and pushed us to do a couple larger projects that we were a bit uncertain about until we understood how feasible it was to accomplish. "The company had the sinks that went on the countertops, but did not predrill the sink opening. Instead, one sink which had a lip on it, the mason drilled out an opening with a hand drill. The opening can not be seen, but why was npot the hole cut at their plant before bringing the slab up, and a second slab which had a below top sink, they had to haul back to their shop, cut the hole and then bring it up the next day. The finish work, in putting in the granite shelves was poor, and I will have to patch and redo the stucco walls. So overall D+ job, and they were not particularly low cost."

"Jimi is congenial, knowledgeable, and his quoted price was reasonable. The work that was supposed to be done in less than 2 months, took 5 months. Most of the work was done pretty well. However, 2 major issues, both of which required extensive followup. As other reviewers have said, Jimi says he will show up and doesn't, makes a lot of promises he doesn't keep. First problem, master shower threshold tile was laid sloping in wrong direction so that water flowed out of the shower into the bathroom and bedroom. Despite repeated calls and promises to fix the issue, it was not addressed for 7 months, and only after threat to call Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Second major problem, plumbing under kitchen sink was done incorrectly with the drain set too low so that water barely can escape. Have had several significant floodings in the kitchen as a result. Another plumber said I was looking at over $1,000 to completely redo the plumbing and to remove/replace drywall to access the plumbing. Now I also probably have mold issues. 4-5 months later Jimi still won't come fix the problem, even though he admitted that he fired the plumber who was originally on my job during the middle of the job because he was incompetent. I cannot recommend 1st Choice Surfaces and I believe you will have the same problem with reliability and communication that has been cited by several reviewers and myself."

"Just a note to acknowledge the successful Completion of our bathroom remodel. The project was complete on time and within budget. We are very satisfied with the workmanship and appreciate the daily clean up. We certainly would recommend you to anyone having a similar project."
